9/11 memorials are lasting tribute to people lost in an instant

Full story: Stamford Advocate

Eight years after the terrorist attacks, the area's 9/11 memorials are a source of comfort for residents, a place to reflect and pray, and tangible evidence of the promise not to forget those who died that day.

It's great that we remember 9/11. But remember it's been EIGHT YEARS!!! Time to more on with our lives. They aren't the only people that have died a horrible death. 50,000 die each year in this country in car accidents. Do we have a national, state or city memorial for them??? Nope. are their lives any less important then the 9/11 victims? No. Come on now...

Does Stamford have 911 Memorial?
Is so, where is it?
If not, why not? A number of Stamford residents died, and there should be a memorial.

Stamford planted some white birches in the cove, the salty environment was not healthy and they were removed. Stamford really likes to cut trees down!

I guess it is not politically wise to recall that Jihadists hijacked planes and killed thousands that day.

The Current Administration has called 9/11 a "man-made catastrophe."

Pretty soon, history books and newspapers will be systemically stripped of any references to 9/11. We don't want to offend any Muslims, do we?

Our own citizens kill each other every year in drunk driving accidents, I guess if they were all klled on the same day each year someone would put up a memorial? Or better yet put some limits on alcohol availability?

The lack of outrage is so sad, these killings continue each day. So much for American pride, it's easy to wave the flag and think that outsiders hurt our citizens.

When will we be honoring those killed by drunk drivers in the USA? Those killed by their own FELLOW CITIZENS?? 12, 998 people died in 2007 at the hands of drunk drivers. Where is the OUTRAGE? Talk about a threat to our citizens and safety!! Please pray for those that will be killed today, this week, this year...

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Libra

You're ready to put a lot of energy and drive into the day, but you'll prefer it if you're doing things that have meaning and emotional significance for you. There's a chance that you could get quite heated over anything that strikes you as important now, and others could be taken aback by your vehemence. There might also be a minor dust-up over a financial matter.
