35 years ago my family rented a cottage on Black Pond. Our family, and my cousins' family vacationed there every year for many years. We rented the cottage from a man named Mr. Marcey...he is probably long gone, by now. Does anyone know if there are still cottages to rent at Black Pond, and if so, who would I contact? We now live in FL but are hoping to vacation in CT in June. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks!

I grew up on Black Pond, camping at Mr. Marcy's campground. I camped from 1972 - 1981 - Memorial Day to Labor Day. Great Memories. Chamberland Lake Campground across the road had purchased this incredible property. They may not own the cottages but as of 3 years ago or so they still rented campsites for a month at a time. Good luck - hope this helps.

Nelson Douglas now owns that property on Black Pond. You can no longer rent the cottages. He turned it into a family vacation spot for his family.

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Sagittarius

You still prefer to be in a world of your own, in which nothing nasty is happening, but at least you're feeling a little more realistic than you were yesterday. It's a perfect day for visiting somewhere beautiful, peaceful or relaxing, or for going to the cinema or an art gallery. But it will be difficult to get up the energy for any prolonged Christmas shopping.
