Some people are blinded by revenge needs, and this clouds their judgment.
After all was said and done, the German prosecutors had a very weak case against Demjanjuk.
The standard of "beyond a reasonable doubt" does not seem to have been met. There are indeed many doubts about KGB-supplied Stalin-era evidence--and grave doubts about decades old "memories."
This seemed to be a German show trial to divert attention away from the fact that Germany has been very lax in prosecuting some of its own ethnic German high-ranking Nazis, many who are from wealthy families, who have been immune to prosecution.
If Demjanjuk had been tried in Israel or the USA, the case would have been dismissed a long tome ago.
Many Israelis who have emigrated from the former USSR, know all to well how the KGB and their Stalinist predecessors forged documents and falsified evidence to frame Jewish dissidents.
The whole case seems to rest on an ID document that appears to be a KGB-supplied forgery.
The Germans put on a good "show trial" but based on a very weak case, so it is quite possible that Demjanjuk will still be exonerated, as he was by Israel.
