work was started in the summer of '05 to bring FIOS into our developement, the cold weather came in Nov, and no one from Verizon has returned to finish the 1/2 completed job... After repeated calls to the company, no information seems to be available. Area is a Scarsdale PO. between Jackson Ave & Ashford Ave. When???

Why does Verizon have to get town-by-town approval? Has Cablevision and the Dolans bought enough politicians in an attempt to stop this?

Don't they realize they are only slowing it down.

If Cablevision wants to keep customers try having some CUSTOMER SERVICE and REASONABLE prices.

It's NY State law and Federal Law that gives each municipality to grant telecommunications rights to one or many companies. I hope to see New Rochelle get access to FIOS and will do my best to convince the New Rochelle City Council to approve of this competition.

I would not sign up with Verizon Fios if for no other reason than they are ruining our neighborhood with boxes they attach to poles that are the size of refrigerators. They look awful. They also have put so much equipment on the poles that many have broken; others are leaning over dangerously.

What counts is where your telephone service is coming from.
Find out which telephone Central Office your exchange is based in, and what municipality. Then find out to which municipality your real estate taxes are paid to. When both of these municipalities have approved the new service, your hook-up will shortly follow.

Where your mail carrier is based has no real meaning.

Ask your city or town councilperson. Usually the hang-ups are political.

Town by town franchise is part of state law. Able vision may be trying to slow down Verizon; but they are using legal means.

If you know a politician has been paid off, please report it to the Cunty DA, otherwise, keep your baseless allegations to yourself.

If you are unhappy with a provider, don't wait. Cancel now. Your TV antenna still works.

If you had a brain you would be dangerous most of the boxes attached to poles belong to cablevision or electric companies

Are you actually trying to say that a fiber optic box is making the poles lean over or break? You think fiber cable is heavier than the copper ones that have been up for years, or the giant lipa transformers at the top of the poles? You may not know it, but you have been brain washed by Cablevision and you didn't even know it. OPEN YOUR EYES..........

I could have run a FiOS cable between my mother's place, and had FiOS in 2006!

Get off your Union Keesters, Verizon! Work an 8 hour day, for a change!

Hook the ENTIRE town of Eastchester up NOW! Our town didn't give you approval for FiOS to have you all sit on your collective butts and take your time rolling it out to us!

Tick, Tock...I'm about to switch to those robber-barons, Cablevision...and time's awasting...

Yeah, "Shortly Follow". Like I said, living in Eastchester, who gave approval in 2006, and am STILL WAITING...

...and everyone wants to know WHY the public is p1$$ed when our "service" industries fail to do what they were created for...SERVICE!
