I wonder why they release the name James Black as the cause of this but they still never released the name of the woman driving the minivan who struck and killed the guy on 22nd street in front of the JCC last week? She must be the wife of the police chief or something where she is protected.

I assume that this guy's name is posted because he smelled like alcohol, apparently failed field sobriety tests and then went to the DUI center for more tests - looks like he was probably DUI and will be charged any day now once the bloodwork is back. In the woman's case, there was no blame/charges assigned to her that I know of so they tend to hold names of people like that...

Stop whining. Two MORE motorcyclist lost their lives, and you are crying about names being released. Be more concerned with the fact that everyone seems to be in a rush to get nowhere, or they drink too much and think it is okay to drive. And innocent people die because of it.

God bless those affected by these tragedies.

May this man NEVER forget what he has done, and live with the guilt through his dying days.

There have been WAY too many motorcycle deaths due to other vehicle error. C'mon, people. THINK when you drive.

My heartfelt prayers go out to the family and friends of the deceased. Ride in peace.

The reason the name of the idiot who killed the guy on 22nd St. in Allentown hasn't been released yet because criminal charges are pending.

No blame/charges as of YET... Hopefully, that person will rot in prison.

The man died of pelvic trauma and the woman died of multiple blunt force trauma. It doesn't sound like helmets would have helped either of these poor souls.

Wethere they were wearing helmets or not,the fact remains that this accident was clearly caused by a guy in a truck that crossed into THEIR LANE!!!Not to mention that he was possibly intoxicated!
Any time you get in a car, ride your motorcycle,or fly a plane, their is a risk that you will get injured or killed.
I know for a fact that both these people did not die from head injuries, like the paper said .It is ignorant to call these riders stupid since they cant tell us their side of the story.
Please everybody, watch for motorcycles...We are everywhere!!!!!

The Express-Times has more details today and lists MADD for donations. Sounds like this will be a DUI case... Very sad all the way around.

I saw some bozo this morning make a right on red while a car was going straight through the light with a green. There was darn near an accident and the guy who pulled in front of the other car was busy talking on his cell phone.

If it is a DUI case this guy will be charged with two counts of vehicular homicide. Very sad that these types of things continue to go on. Whecn the heck is it going to stop?

As for the poster who said something about helmuts, let me begin by saying this. I was at the scene. The motorcycle was the size of a kids bike after it was hit. I do not care if they were wearing neck braces and helmuts it would not of helped. They died of blunt force. It was a horrible scene. God bless the friends & families of both victims.

So you would think that because of the high risk of being injured riding a motorcycle the operators and passengers of motorcyles would wear a helmet??

Motorcyclists need to be more aware of vehicles and OBEY the laws!!!

um, there is no law in PA that requires motorcyclists to wear helmets, and it is against the law to cross the double yellow line. place the blame where it belongs instead of using these poor people to further your own agenda.

Because that woman is probably some breeder who's safety they are more concerned with over the innocent man she ran down, probably while trying to get the kids to soccer practice in a hurry.
