the way it sounds in this case...some punk kid had a dog for one reason...not saying all pits are bad dogs..what i am saying is some make shift thug took a dog with a bad reputation merely to sponsor that reputation...

the 21 year old should be charged with possession of an animal that was kept with the intent to cause bodily harm...

i hope this bloke gets more than a citation for this...

because of his lack of decency..now there are two dead dogs and injured people because this fool wants to be irresponsible...

Let's hope the owner of the Pittie gets brought up on charges, and has to pay restitution to the victim. I bet that the idiot owner of the Pittie ends up suing the cop, though. That's how idiots operate.

You are quite right! Pits are gentle, sweet, and easy to train dogs. They just act bad to please their owners.

I personally have 2 pits and a chihuahua, my brother has 2 and my parents have 4. All of these dogs have been around babies to the elderly with no problems. They have never been agressive toward anyone. It is all in how they are raised. My first pit bull would allow my son to put handcufs on her when he was younger. I would trust my pits around others before my chihuahua.
It is very sad that this dog was put down but if it was agressive i understand and do not blame the officer. Iam sure he did what needed to be done. I just dont want a bunch of people talking bad about the bread of pit bull when they are not all bad. My 7 month old pit thinks he is a lap dog even though he weighs 60 lbs.
Please judge each dog by who they are, not by the bread they are.

I believe that it is the owner that either mistreats their dog or teaches them to be mean. Small dogs bite as well, just not as publicized because they don't do as much damage. Small dog small teeth - big dog big teeth. I know people that have pit bulls or similar breeds and they are just as gentle as any other breed. They just have the capability for their bite to be bad because of their jaws. Doesn't mean they will bite. Even though I love my dogs, they are animals and have natural instincts that may come out depending on the circumstances. I can remember when German Shepards and Doberman Pinschers were considered the "deadly" dogs. I just think no one breed should be condemned simply because they are of that breed.

I'm not getting into the whole pit discussion again. But ime any pit that shows aggression towards other dogs like that have a fighting history. I hope the owner gets charged.

You read about so many pittbull attacks because they are the only breed that is news worthy in the medias eye. Do you honestly believe that pittbulls are the only dogs that are attacking ? Come on now really !! You will NEVER read about a poodle attack...doesn't mean they don't !!!

The breed should not be put down bc of the media saying they are bad dogs and are all viscous. They are not all bad dogs! I have owned many many diff dogs mostly pitbulls and I tell you I would be more afraid of a chiuahuah than a pit. Yes pits mouths are much bigger and have way more muscles but chiuahuahs are sneaky and more temper-mental. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of pits out there that are not the nicest but it is how the dog is trained and handled. I remember as a kid my dad sending my bull mastiff out in the yard with my brother and I to "watch" us and make sure nothing happened. That is exactly what he did. He kept usin the yard by herding (running in circles) us and made sure that if any strangers were near that my dad would know by the sound of his bark. I love pits of all kinds.
The owner of the dog needs to be evaluated closely and then if needed charges should be brought upon him. The dog is gone there is no bringing him back and what has happened is done, although it is sad life goes on.

i recall a klan boys from cottage hills were raising pit bulls for dog fights and also to attack law enforcement agents specifically...when all of the I's were dotted and the T's were crossed..the charges were extreme and stuck...

the same needs to happen to anyone that has a dog of any breed that intentionally keeps and maintains a vicious and uncontrollable animal...especially this whack job..
