Yes, I live a sheltered life, I haven't even seen all of Downers Grove yet! But I don't feel it's awful, I like it that way, if that is ok with you. And yes I think that Latino's are the only one's that paint gang signs in our community. If I am incorrect, please tell who else is doing that. It only makes the good Latino's look bad. Thus the stereotype.
I am sure there are many beautiful places on this earth, but I don't think you will be vacationing in Mexico any time soon, or Arizonia for that matter. I could go on and on but don't have time nor do I think I could change your mind about anything.
The U.S. allows 2000,000. that's two million people into the United States legally every year. If that's not enough, I don't know what else to say.
How sad.....you have only visited Downer's Grove? You should go out a little more and maybe you won't be so narrow minded about Mexicans. Besides, living a little won't make you so bitter. Really? You honestly think that only Latino's are writing gang signs? What about all of your white power gang bangers? Yes, those exist too. That's your problem, you need to stop stereotyping. For your information i do travel quite often, I have gone various places in Mexico, i've gone to Hawaii, Bahamas, Europe and i've been trying to travel most of the United States. With that being said, yes i have been to Arizona various times since I do have family out there and yes, they are all legal in case you were wondering. Really, the US allows 2,000,000 people into the United States every year? I think you need to look closer into that information. If people are allowed into the US, i don't think that number is only for Mexicans but people from various countries. Regardless, that number is a little high, don't you think? Nope, you can't change my mind because you don't have any real facts. Oh by the way....you do have alot of time on your hands because you are on this website everyday. Me, since i knew I made a comment yesterday i knew you would be back on here bright and early this morning!! Later, get back to me when you have some real facts and quit talking out of your a#@!!!

I got a cousin here, he traveled all the way up to Shipshewana Indiana a while back. He tells of a klan up there called the Amish folks. They all do have the same sign on the back of there horse carriages. Looks like some kinda red or orange triangle. The way he tells it, they don't much bother any body and pretty much stay among them selves. Guess they only put that sign on their stuff not on public or someone elses property.I don't remember him calling them gang bangers, but you might be right, you sound like you kmow what you are talking about. Oh boy I not bitter, I'm happy as a clam. Seems to me, you might be a little bitter and think the United States owes Mexico and all it's people something because of our United States Constitution.

I must be pretty lucky if you traveled to all those places and even Hawaii and still come back to Crest Hill to live.
I hear tell the woman out there wear some kinda skirt made out of grass.

O well gots to go feed the chickens, talk to you later.

If in you see any of them Amish signs any were in Crest Hill, you let us know, hear?

Claudia is a member of the City Council and has sworn to uphold the US Constitution as has every other elected official in this country. This means she is to uphold and defend the laws of this country. The City of Crest Hill is within the jurisdiction of any and every federal law. She is completely within her rights to support immigration reform, however she is not within her rights to support the violation of current laws. She must respect any law currently in force until the day that it is repealed or altered and then must respect whatever new law takes its place.

As for the police, where do you get the idea that they can only ask for those specific items and only enforce local laws. Would you suggest that they look the other way and do nothing to stop the breaking of federal laws? If they stop a car and hear a child yelling that they have been kidnapped or see a driver and a pile of money covered in exploded ink packs, should they ignore those violations of federal laws? I would certainly hope not, however I also would hope that all federal laws are enforced and that we do not pick and chose what is enforced based on race.

She is legal, a citizen, and registered to vote.

She couldn't hold public office if she wasn't.

Well, I haven't cross-examined her on the witness stand, convened a grand jury, or sued her for copies of her I-9.

On those points, I don't know.

Neither do you, for that matter.

Let me lure you into making a really slanderous and libelous comment, my friend.

Do you believe she lied, filed false documents, and ran (and was elected to public office) when she didn't have the legal right to do so?

I await your response.

....Like someone elected doesn't commit crimes.

Illinois sets the standard for public official going to jail for all sorts of crimes.

It's a fact that the City has never been sued by the former Building Inspector, you need to ask WHY? He doesn't want information on the public record. Many contractors gave the former Mayor detailed facts and to the City Manager in writting, when they meet with old Double Dipper he resigned once he read the letters, and now the new Mayor has reviewed the file.

Did you ever hear why the current Mayor wouldn't appoint him to the PC. Go read the minutes..

The fact is that crimes even goes across party lines.

Many times Double Dipper has been asked to sign a hold harmless letter and release his City file..

Mr Scooter, Ms. Gazal has been acting very suspicious lately, turning on her friends trashing her neighbors, writing that there is a Racist Alderman in Crest Hill on her Blog and flying off the handle when asked anything about Illegal imagration. With her organizing people to go to anti sb1070 rallies in Chicago on her blog. She doesn't seem to be holding up to the oath that she took when she was elected Alderwoman as other people have stated on this site. I voted for Ms. Gazal, with everything that transpired and with the way she is acting, it has cross my mind that I wondered if she was a citizen.
But if you say she has to be or she wouldn't be able to run, I'll take your word for it. I heard that in some communities Legal but non citizens are able to vote and run so that they are allowed to have a voice in the community they live. No need to get upset Scooter, It's just a question. Are you a Citizen?

OK....I will ask again. What laws has she violated? Please enlighten me. If she is breaking the law, why doesn't someone turn her into the police. And speaking of police, I said if a person is stopped for speeding. I said nothing about someone yelling that they've kidnapped or a bunch of money from a bank robbery is lying on the front seat. Right now in this state, if someone gets pulled over for a moving violation, the police can only ask for your drivers license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance. If they feel you are driving while impared or intoxicated, they can ask you to take a breathalizer or field sobriety test. They cannot ask you for proof of citizenship. This is what the new law in Arizona is all about. Whether or not someone in an elected position in this state, supports or does not support this bill in Arizona has absolutely no bearing in Illinois.

If you are referring to Brenda Lelis' take on Hookah Time Cafe for the racist comments, I'd remind you that free speech works in both directions. Lelis can condemn Hookah freely. Gazal can condemn Lelis freely.

This should be in Claudia's Somos News Newspaper, wonder if she published this rather than Crest Hill has a racist Alderman????
