We are missing our large mixed breed dog in Granite City. He has black curly hair, white front paws, and no tail. He is old, has bad hips, and is an inside dog. Wont fair well on his own. If you have seen him, please post where and when, we are trying to find him. He got out of the yard on Sunday, 2/12.

Did you check Animal Control on Missouri Ave? I know they are full right now and had a LOT come in today.

I don't understand the 'inside dog' and the last time the dog was seen was Sunday in the yard.
It's confusing. That was 2 days ago.

We did check animal control and they took our phone number, will check again today though. He's an inside dog, he was outside in a fenced yard to do his business. We let him in and out as he pleases. Went to let him in and he had gotten out.

What area is the dog lost in? How big is 'large'? Will the dog answer to a name if a stranger calls?

Granite City area, large as in 55/65 pounds. Black curly hair, white front paws, no tail. His name is Bear but I don't know that he would go to a stranger since he's probably freaked out by now. Really just want someone to let me know where they see him so we have a better idea of where to look. Granite City isn't big until you're trying to find your dog.

What they're saying is he lives inside not outside..he gets let outside to go to the bathroom.

Yes, we found him at animal control. However, he was picked up on Tuesday and when we called Wednesday morning to see if they picked him up, we were told they didn't have him. I would highly recommend anyone looking for their dog go and physically check for yourself. Had we taken the word of the person on the phone we would have never known he was there and he would have been put down.
Glad u found your dog

granite city does not kill the animals. madison county comes and picks them up and takes them to edwardsville on 143, just off 55 highway. the humane society next door will come over and see if they can save a few from that bunch. if you lose a pet, it is worth a trip to the granite and edwardsville facility to see if your pet is there. be sure to bring a flyer to post at those places, it could save your pet. my kitty got out and as i vwas looking around at granites place a lady was there to rescue a few for adoption. never just call...you gotta go there.

NEVER just call. ALWAYS go look. What is a certain breed to you, can be a completely different breed to someone else. Glad your baby is home.
