Trucker, why don't you add up all the unemployment money you've collected over the years, and give us the grand total. Has to be several thousand dollars. You're no better than the politicians you bash day after day after day.

Instead of schools why not just open reformatories. There certainly is plenty of need for them.

It's funny how they will cut school funding before they cut everyone else's salaries! Cahokia schools need major renovations yet nothing has been done. Huffman has the exact playground equipment that I played on 24 years ago. I was apauled when I got a letter that says your school has failed state standards, but you can pick another school in district yet all the district schools failed. I moved to another school district and now my kid is bombing subjects. Yet most of the school board members are making crazy figures and bringing home a pay check that most cahokia families will never even get close to having!

My guess is that as a general statement the cahokia educators are the best paid people in Cahokia. Interestingly enough these same highly paid individuals are failing at their jobs based upon the district report cards and college entrance exam scores.
Ponder this thought. Next strike let them all walk. Then get some decent replacement teachers in there. The local colleges have plenty of young fresh certifyable graduate teachers every semester. These young teachers have fresh new ideas, are enthusiastic, want to teach and are not yet corrupted by the money hungry ways of the NEA.
Before the naysayers pop up consider; what you have now is obviously not working. Replace the old retread teachers with new ones. Remember, its for the children

Want to fix this problem? It is simple... If you do not live within the city limits of Cahokia, Sauget, or Centerville you should not be allowed to go to a district 187 school.

If it was that simple there wouldn't be illegal students at Belleville East or O'Fallon!!!!

First of all they have a wonderful music program at the high school. Numerous students have received scholarships and continued on at college. The music teacher and her husband give a lot of their time helping students.

Secondly dont forget about the 2 positions that were created for local politicals relatives (Cutis McCall's sister in law and Mark Jackson, Centreville Mayor, wife. Those were two totally unnecessary positions.
Like that matters

That doesn't matter to them because they think we're at the lower end of the food chain & they can & will do anything they like until such time they are either voted out or arrested. And I doubt either will ever happen.

This is the same damn school district that wanted the taxpayers to spend 50 million dollars for a new school a few years ago.
East St. Louis has some new schools, send them there but not the few white kids that still live in Cahokia.

Do away with gym, art, music, and sports. These activities will not get them jobs. Half of the kids that graduate cannot speak proper English. Concentrate more on English and math. I would not send my dog to the Cahokia High School.

I disagree with you. The kids need a well balanced education like we had but I'm sure most of them would be happier in East St. Louis where nothing is expected of them.

Convert the parks building to a prison and send them there. Sooner or later they will all be in jail anyway

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Pisces

Things are not always what they seem today, so be careful. Someone might appear to be completely honest but turn out later to have been fooling you in some way. Or a situation may seem quite clear-cut right now but forthcoming events will reveal that things are very different under the surface. So be wary about who and what you believe, and don't let anyone push you into making important decisions today because they may not be in your best interests.
