If you lived in ESL u would want cameras not because of drugs because of all of the crime and robberies. I'm white and I was born, raised there. There are many good families just like us who many generations were born and raised here it's their home and land. We can't help what goes on outside or when. if there were more law enforcements and more monitoring that shows more than a basic profile that would help. Quite honestly to be a child growing up a little afraid to go out in the dark you become accustomed to the crime. You don't go out late unless someone watches for your safe return. Daylight hours are usually fine around there people go on there are many nice churches, nice families and are being raised properly by their parents. People didn't purchase their land a long time ago knowing the land will be a community with a lot of crime. We can help how many are enforcing the law. People do witness these crimes someone could come forward and be a witness for this poor mother whose son held on to tell his story. I have read many pleas for the public to report crimes and they don't but I also hear the police having to work really long shifts why can't this community get more police bring it back to the old days. The park always looks empty it's rare to see children playing on the streets or going further than their porch, don't they deserve a better community and a bright future? Everyday, I check the newspaper making sure my family is still alive, I'm sure I'm not the only one. Alorton used to have their own police. My heart goes out to everyone there. The families who lost their loved ones from murder to improper health services, to drugs, to alcohol, to our system failing us, to the overworked police dept. or the closed depts, to the overworked mothers, fathers who have to commute to work, the poor children who are afraid, the abandoned wild packs of dogs, the 90 year old man who still walks around with his bag of liquor who honestly is harmless but what might happen to him we can only imagine, but what does the community keep bringing bars and clubs, murder & bodies from all over that's not a future to grow on. I only wish people wouldnt be corrupt and screw this community out of the services they deserve. When i lost family there the community came and supported beautifully more than expected and we all appreciated it. It's not the only problem there though people die even though the hospital is down the street the equipment is not there to save a life if all you have is minutes.
