They haven't cared in years so why would you think that they will start caring now? It is a damn shame that there isn't some way that can make the parents do their job, guess they are too busy or lazy. No surpise from what I have seen over the last 30+ years.

It's because it is like beating a dead horse man there is nothing to talk about. A zoo can't change how it's animals behave. RCSD can't change that most kids going don't give a crap about education, teachers have to spend half their time disciplining instead of teaching, and the parents of most aren't involved in their childrens schooling. So with 9% of black male students graduating and only 47% of the other doing the same it's a lost cause.

Besides anybody who actually cares about their children would not send their kids to a city school.

Most of the parents who's kid's will be effected by this start getting up around noon---one. Check back latter for some interest but don't get your hopes up.

Elementary school ends at no latter than 2:15 pm in RCSD Also Middle and High school are out by 2:45. The kids you are seeing are being dropped off from after school day cares, sports, or Detention...

LOL at the drunk comment since the only article stating times is one that says the new 300 hours added could keep some kids till 5.

If anyone is an idiot, it is surely you.
The article never mentioned that RCSD or any local ones will be one of the selected districts. It is not a mandatory program, but a pilot program by some districts. Notice the word "some" and not "all".

Well forget what it mentioned or didn't, as I will inform you that at least some elementary school kids in the city of rochester are not getting home till near 5pm when its dark out and they didn't have any after school programs.
I'm sure the little kid was not lying to me, nor am I seeing things with my own eyes.

Hmmm. Why not link academic performance of children to keeping entitlements? If your child is truant and or failing school, you forfeit government money. Bring accountability to the parents.

I do know at least one city school went to longer hours.
I herd the first couple of weeks it was quite a joke as most of the parent(s) did not have a clue as to what was going on with there kid's or there kid's schools.
Imagine that....
Who would of thought.....

Go figure, parent(s) who don't have a clue......

Can you imagine that?
Parent(s) that don't know what time there kid's finish school.
I CAN'T imagine a parent(s) that does not know
start/finish time, every class, every teacher, contact numbers, semester/quarter schedules, Know each and every teacher on sight personal contact (regularly) contacts teachers/school for every child absence.

Good grief why am I waisting my time..........

the rcsd is usually involved

i was speaking about the effects that would take place if this was implemented

nothing idiotic about that in any way unless you find facts idiotic

they state some not all, and they havent confirmed which yet

WHICH MEANS they MIGHT Be in RCSD, which MAKES ME correct when i spoke of WHAT WILL happen IF they do that

so go walk into an oven or go take a shower with zyklon b

The kids are not in school now. You could make it 12 hours a day. It would not matter. The blacks just do not care. Why should they? They get free money for life, free food, free health care, free daycare, free cell and lots free programs. No need to be educated. No need to be in school. The Government will care for you. If you get to educated you may have to work.
SOME kids are still in school

increase the hours, the absence rate will increase in accordance with the hours
