Hello , I am allway's hearing all of the bad and negative storie's about East Prairie ,But you know, I grew up there. Although I did leave, there were some pretty good times there.I had a lot of friends there .I remember some of my childhood friends.Steven, Tammy , Jill , those were my best friends. And I really wish I could see them again. I remember one time .I was really feeling bad ,someone had spread an ugly rumor about me that was not true. And Tammy said you know what.People are going to beleive what they want ,no matter what the truth is. So hold you're head up hi and be you're self .Be proud of who you are and beleive in you're self even if no one else does.I allway's remembered that. And last week I saw Tammy in Cape Girardeau .And she is just as nice as allways. And dog gone it .It looks like time has been good to her .Wouldn't you just know it. So yeah East Prairie has it's bad side. But there are a lot of good people there to.

I see a lot of negative about EP here too. I've never lived right in EP, but I've lived right around it for 8+ years now, and am in and through town several times in any given month. I've never had any bad experiences at all in EP-- never felt unsafe, never felt "targeted" by the police force because I was from out of town. In comparing the EP school to those of the neighboring school districts, I would just as soon have my kids there as any of the others, and would rather have them there than in a couple of the others. I know enough to know the town's not perfect, but I also know enough to know it's not what it's often portrayed to be here.

Dear Courious George,
I went to East Prairie today. And I drove arround there and stopped and had lunch.I ate at Taster's and it was really good. I even picked up an East Prairie Eagle newspaper.I haven't read one of them in year's,30 to be exact. And I did not get harresed by any police.I didn't even see one at all.I will be going back agian this week.I see that they have a museum now.And I think it would be nice to go and look arround in it. Also, I have been thinking about writting a book about my old hometown. I really think East Prairie has changed a lot since I was there 30 year's ago. I also have been thinking about looking up a few old friend's there. If you go into town e-mail me .It was nice to hear that someone else doesn't think the town is all that bad.

I am very proud to say I'm from East Prairie, especially since my son Drew passed away. This community has been unbelieaveable to me and my family through this horriable time in our lives right now.I only wish I would have paid more attention in school so I would have learned how to spell or this forum had spell check.

I left East Prairie in 1977 and have never looked back or regretted it. I must say that there is not one person that still remains in that pathetic little town that I care to come in contact with. Most of the people there are small minded and think they know everybody's business when in fact they are no better than anyone else. I say good riddance.

I have been to EP twice. The first time was when I went with a SEMO friend to visit her family (Feb 80) and then when I went back to be in her wedding (July '81)...I grew up in a St. Louis suburb, and found EP to be very different from where I came from. I enjoyed my visits there thoroughly! Everyone was very nice, and hospitable. Maybe someday I'll be able to visit your nice city again!!
