Why don't the state of ill. pay for fuel. O thats right most in govt. are thiefs look how many come from Ill. that either have charges against them or are in prison. Don't flood Cairo with all the productive citizen and all the mass business. As much Crack and other drugs over there it would take EPA years to clean all gound up.

Flood water and seep water would have backed (back water) up from New Madrid regardless of the operation of the floodway. Since the flood gates are closed (and will be for some time), ANY water taken on by Mississippi county will drain into, then as far south as possible in our drainage ditches. At that point, it has no place to go. What doesn't soak in or evaporate piles up and "backs up" from New Madrid until the gates can be opened.
