The Bible warns us to be careful that we are not deceived by falsehoods.(Colossians 2:8) Do you think that everything taught in the churches is from the Bible?

For example: Is the soul immortal?

According to the Bible the soul is not immortal!- Ezekiel 18:4.

The original reads, Look, all lives belong to me-both the parent's life and the child's life are equally mine-so it is the person who sins, himself, who must die. Knowing as we do that everyone dies physcially, this must mean something else. God's concept of dying is different than ours. Our concept is our body being put in the grave while God's concept of being dead is being cut off from Him. Physical death and spiritual death is two different things. All humans experience physical death at one time or another but not all humans experience spiritual death. Yes the soul is immortal and will spend eternity in heaven or hell. The body goes back to dust. The spirit goes back to God. The soul spends eternity in torment or bliss. Our choice.

I forgot to answer your original question. No, everything taught in churches is not from the Bible. That is the reason we must read the word and not depend wholly on what is taught by other people. The word tells us to study to show ourselves approved. Have a good day.
