Report Details Hate in Suffolk County

A new report says the situation for Latinos is very bad on the eastern half of Long Island.

Now that's something worth hearing. When you're away from the place you grew up in for the length of time you say you were gone I wouldn't expect it would be the same as you left it. I know I left that area almost 30 years ago and I tremble at the thought of living there again. I get so many bad reports. Crime problems on top of crime problems and nothing legitimate being done to stop this problem. I'm too old now to fight with the criminals of the area. I'm deeply sorry for what has happened to the Patchogue area. Did I say that? Oh, yes, I did. I'm also deeply sorry for the horror story that has become our country. I live in Appalachia now. I can't afford to live in Patchogue. I think of myself as a refugee from Long Island.
