Its not right that these people take matters into their own hands..but i don't blame them for doing so since the authorities will be on the case for a few days maximum and then call it an unsolved case before forgetting about it as if it never happened. that is why the community is the way it has been for years becuase WE know that the authorities, and much less the mayor who is against a police department, will do absolutely nothing! especially if its one of those bulldogs..beacuse lets face it the mayor won't go against people who his sons were and might still be associated with now is he?? ask anybody who has been in orange cove long enough and they will know what i'm talking about. thats why these "dogs" go around parading like they own the town because they have "connections". now i'm not saying the surenos are not the same but at least on the side where i lived it was always those damn dogs that were always causing disturbances...and until there is unbiased leadership in the town nothing is going to change and there will be violence that should not be typical of such a tiny town.

I don't know if they will or not,and i hope they just leave it up to God to bring justice to the culprit because although we might evade man's law here on earth we can't evade God's. I have to agree with everyone in this post. Bottom line is, Both gangs are preparing for retaliation. Innocent bystanders WILL be hurt, possibly killed. Someone in the "higher ups" have got to know this by now. If they do not, or they feel that it is NOT going to happen, they should be greatly informed and fast. I do not understand why a city has to be divided. Why couldn't you come together in some sort of neutral meeting. I know. Probably easier said than done. But it has to be done for this town to come together. The gang situation has become very out of control.
So what if this is really going to take place. How does one prepare for it? The function would not even be enjoyable because everyone will be scared to even go. And if they do go, should they all go out and buy bullet proof vests? Sad sad sad. What has this town come to? May God bless us all from here on out. Only He knows what's really going to happen.

These people you’re talking about are children, not adults! You’re all talking about some scary stuff. Do you really believe its right for them to take matters into their own hands and get revenge, you got to be joking? Then this will never come to an end. What ever violence that takes place anywhere, is not the fault of our leadership. It’s the parents who should be responsible for their children.

Let’s not get into to the politics right now, that doesn’t even concern me. What does concern me are the children of Orange Cove. I think we need some kind of Gang Prevention Programs in the school, and they should start in the in the elementary level all the way to the high schools.
Another thing I don’t like is that, at the OCHS there are certain young men who dress in kaki colored pants and they wear those Nike Cortez shoes, and when they wear shorts they wear them low with the white socks up to their knees. They look like they just got out of prison. And the times I’ve been to the school these boys all are together. The school needs to have a dress code. And not allow them to dress like that.
I agree with you on the prayers. We all should pray for these children.

Hoorah for Granparent!! We as a community need to step up to the plate and raise our children. Sad part is that most the parents don't have good parenting skills, which in part is due to society. It use to be the normal to have polite children with manners, now it is the exception!I applaude those parents that instill that in thier kids. We need to start at home and continue this in the school system, teaching respect, manners, responsibility instead of just herding the kids through for the money. We need to put the respect for the American flag back in the schools.We need to stop treating our kids like 'buddies' and be the responsible adults and role models. Stop allowing our kids to see things that most adults can't comprehend. Take your kids to the park, play a game with them..be active in your kid's life..know thier friends and teachers..know what they are doing during and after school. I work alot with families that have lost kids to gang violence and sad to say most parents will say.."Not my son, he wasn't in a gang."..but the pictures tell another story. These are kids we are talking about not just a number in the rising statistics.

As for the children of the town, as I have stated in another post, it DOES start in the home. If the parents were able to raise their children the way that we were raised, there would NOT be such mayhem. The fear of GOD has been taken out of the children and CPS has stepped in to try and tell every parent HOW to "properly" raise their children. Swatting on the rear end does not solve anything. They feel nothing and still rebel against everything. The fear of GOD, a really good leather strap and a healthy bar of soap. We all had it done once in our lives and we are still alive and doing good.
Teachers are not babysitters and should not be labeled as such. Most parents can't wait for the child to go to school, just to get a "break". That is sad. Gang Preventioin Program is the best thing that I have heard in a long time for our children. Times are rough and tough, and it is time that we, as parents crack the whip hard on our children and start making the change. It is never too late to do anything. You can always lead a horse to water, eventually, when they are thirsty enough, they will drink.

YOU were at the Council meetings for the first two years she was elected, and Glenda Hill was attacked by "The Mouth", "Minnie Mouse" and the "Ringmaster" at nearly every meeting. Some attacks almost as vicious as the one launched by "The Mouth" at the July 8 Council meeting.

After two of the Lopez appointees were removed by the VOTERS of ORANGE COVE with a dramatic show of VOTER Support in 2008, Lopez continued his attacks. A little more subtle, but it is there. Attempting to cut her off in mid-statement when a City Council issue is being discussed if a very juvenile act - but not surprising for Lopez.

Attempting to ignore other Council members or citizens in the audience is another favored technique he uses. He is always reminded of the appropriate procedure by Glenda Hill or Alan Bengyel, and once in a blue moon Ernie Tuttle wakes up long enuf to tell Lopez to get on with the meeting.
