Why can't we have alternate side of the street parking in East Orange? That Way the streets can be cleaned regularly and residents and guest can park their cars. Also, the overnite parking laws went into effect when there were many less cars on the road. Why isn't that taken into concideration. It isn't as easy to find and maintain a permant overnite parking space as it once was and when found, they are much more expensive. There are two sides to every street why can't we use one or the other every night.

People generally understand the meaning of law. To the credit of many EO residents, grievances have been raised at City Hall with no action.
Strange...in a city with plenty of single homes with no driveways and limited parking areas for overall that overnight parking is prohibted. It comes down to money and EO is pretty tapped all the way around. Therefore, any approach to obtain money is supported. Shame on anyone who supports this type of "legal abuse" and those lawmakers and law enforcers who do not stand up for the people they serve.

Well, I feel the residents of east orange should get a petition going.I'm ready now. We pay all these high taxes and we cant even park in front of our houses overnight. The petition starts here. If anyone is interested my e-mail is TISH3d@aol.com. Come on people let's come together as one and take this issue to city hall. Let's be about it not write about it.

Overnight parking is allowed for out of towners. You just have to call it in to the police department, they give the tag numbers to the patrol car in that area

Overnight parking is a joke!!! I have spoke to several officers who states that you can call and receive three passes for a guest. When I called the gentleman stated that passes are only for out-of-state guest and medical emergency. When will everyone be on the same wave length. I can't wait to sale my house and leave this city.

Some smaller townships and boroughs do this because they don't want a lot of traffic or people. They prefer a more quiet place to live.

Some cities do this because there are way too many cars for space. More cars = more street damage and trash. They have to pay for this and have to fnd a way to control this issue. Hence a ordinance is passed to solve the problem.

You have to find these things out BEFORE you move into a location. Not just that the house is cheap or the rent is low, or the house is everything you want. You have the also think of the ordinances for parking and guest parking.

Its a good place to live in an overnight parking enforced area when you have in-laws and dont want people staying over ;)

What's the law about commercial vehicles parking on residential streets over night, over weekends, everyday, hogging spaces in West Orange???? They park so they can save a space for their buddies to park when they get home. Sometimes there are 3-4 cars from the same company parked on the street. I've called and reported it- the cops do nothing. Maybe I am wrong and they have a right to park here- but I can't find the info saying that's true. So what is the law???

their are times i've witnessed first hand that the east orange police dept did not issue tickets to vehicles parked on the street all night long an the people who owned these vehicles don't reside in east orange. their just here for drug trafficing and parking stolen vehicles to hide. The supposedly muslims don't have vehicles inspected an they drive around without a care in the world, an at all times of night with 6 wheel trucks transporting who knows what.

These are the stepts to improving are community and our town; Montclair is a good example. This is about safety and a better quality of life in East Orange for you now and your children in the future. Keep up the good work Mayor Bowser,Council members and Police Department of East Orange.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Aries

The prospect of travel really appeals to you today, especially if you don't have any holidays booked for the foreseeable future. So be careful if you're out shopping and you happen to walk past a travel agent's, because almost before you know it you could be sitting in there waving your credit card around and consulting your diary for the best day to take off for the wide blue yonder.
