It, of course, had to be an "assault rifle", whatever that is. Sloppy, sloppy reporting. Like describing a vehicle in a traffic accident. If it involved a Humvee, we could call it a military- type or assault vehicle.

Why this delay again? Would it have anything to do with his uncle, who was active with APD at the time of this incident? My house is about 1/16 of a mile from the crime scene and there is no forgetting the sound of that 'assault rifle', 60+ rounds is quite memorable. I really feel sorrow for the families of those three kids, and our neighborhood will never be the same again.Thank God his uncle moved out of the 'hood.

When will people learn how to not get in over their heads when dealing with drug-swapping? It gets more and more dangerous on each level you take when attempting to obtain drugs illegally. With each attempt the person becomes bolder and bolder on how to obtain the priceless soup. There is no winners in this circle, everyone goes down in a less than desirable way.....unfortunately, the trio who were gunned down were not as innocent as we would like to think that they were and now leave families heartbroken. May this monster who killed them receive in like manner the way he slayed these individuals....

Good lawyers will always do everything in their power to delay the inevitable; in this case life in prison because this state just took away the death penalty. Too bad. I remember the killings well and I remember this case went cold until the witness needed a break in her DWI charge. So much for a reliable witness. This chick causing all the uproar is a poooooota

This person needs to go down HARD and dont forget the three INOCENT teens were involved in drugs.
This person needs to be convicted and sent to DEATH ROW.
Remember, you deal with ILLEGAL drugs, you take your chances!!!

Given the sentiment in our legislature, that may have to be a DEATH ROW in another state. There is a death row in NM but with no deaths.

I echo the sentiments of the others who have made comments-

These kids were buying drugs- If they had not been inovolved in that activity they might well be alive today.

Anytime a witness change their story that is a problem. There is a reason for it. The state needs to find out why? You can bet lawyers on both sides know why.

This case should have never been brought to court. All three main witnesses proven liars and drug addicts that were coerced into their stories by a lying over the hill cold case investigator that begged to get to work this case. Since the county and state had exhausted so many resources they gave him a shot, which has turned out to be a big mistake.
Prior to the lies told in this case about Brandon Craig the police believed that the front seat passenger of a shinny late model black or dark blue custom painted SUV fired the fatal shots. Now because that story doesn't fit what the lying "witnesses" are saying, the shooter got out of the vehicle and walked from one side of the front of the kids car to the other side of the kids car in a space that witnesses on the scene said didn't exist because the vehicles were too close together.
