I've been looking for a few years and it seems the supply is limited to new construction on very large homes.
Is anyone aware of a company that will install a geothermal heat pump into an existing Long Island home (not new construction)?

to kick the energy vampires out of our lives forever. GO SOLAR.
Breakthrough solar technology will be economically viable for the mainstream in the next two years.
Get off the grid FOREVER! Never be vulnerable to power outages again! Best of all, tell those Texas vampires to take their Broadwater crapola and shove it! Think about what you'll be able to do with all the money you WON'T have to pay to heat or light your house again.

Solar panel systems alone do not make enough energy to get you "off the grid."
Solar coupled with a geothermal system would be more successful. You wouldn't have to heat the water as much since the temperature variations underground are far less extreme than the air temperature above ground.
I hope you are right about the economic viability. A 20,000 KW system, even with the LIPA rebates, costs $30K-$40K out of pocket.
