If it came down to it, I would have done the same thing. Our pets are not just animals, they're family, and you'd to do anything for your family.

I hope Frack feels better.

To be honest, I've heard quite a few complaints about that house. It's an eye-sore and obviously a danger to family pets in the neighborhood. Something needs to be done, Mrs. Blumenthal should step up to the plate and have something done.

I agree. My two cats are like my "kids". If anything were to hurt them, I'd do the same thing. Anyone that owns a animal dog or cat can understand this unfortunate situation. Good job Marty!!! I hope that house next door is condemned...or burned.

Any man who would steal for the love of a cat, is a hero in my book. Sweet story!!!!

I completely agree!! But If the house has been like that for 30 years how come no one ever did anything about it?? And if this woman is the owner, why is the house the way it is and has been for the past 30 years? Where have you been Linda? Hopefully the house is bulldozed and Marty's Cats And other neighborly cats can live in a safer neighborhood!

Why not keep the cats indoors?

this is the greatest excuse i've ever heard
it is genious! more sympathy and wealth will be bestowed on this thief because he wanted to help a cat. if he said he wanted to help his injured wife it wouldn't have been greeted with such compasion

way to go man!

You love your cats, but not enough to keep them safely restricted to your own premesis? You should know that your cat, no matter how loveable, is a predator, and will spend the night stalking and cruely killing and torturing baby birds and small animals each time you allow it roam free? Are you O.K. with that? Keep your pets on your own property and you will not have to resort to common thievery to pay vet's bills when they are stupid enough to take on an animal that can defend itself.

Yes he was doing the right thing for his pet...BUT...there are other ways to make an honest $$$...AND...what would have happened if the ceiling or floor collapsed on theses guys...now the FD & PD would be tied up for hours with a rescue! I would check his background if there is a list of thefts or other criminal problems...I highly doubt he is innocent! The bottom line is you dont belong on other property vacant or occupied stealing copper pipes...there is a big black market for theses pipes!

i probably would've done the same thing for my cat or dog, doesn't look like the pipes were being put to any use anyway, leave him alone!!!

I suppose this guy would steal a car if his cat ran in the road & got run over & didn't quite die.

Cats shouldn't be roaming around getting into all kinds of trouble. If you claim to love them, you should know it's your responsibility to keep them safe.

I am a neighbor and family friend of the Haleys and Marty served in the military and had never had any other charges against him....He is a great loving person, and its hard to restrict an outdoor cat the your rescued from under a deck outside. He is innocent, and we werent looking for any sympathy for us or the cat, But if you dont know the story and dont know what kind of person marty is the you should have no comment at all... I would have done the same for anyone of my 3 dogs, and i would have done it with pride. Its just another way of Linda paying for the bill, because she wouldnt have did it on her own, because of the witch she is for leaving that house the way it is for so long and letting it destroy the envirement with all the fumes coming from the basement, and ammunition, shotgun shells and everything else thats laying in the doorway or inside the house...So know who these people are before you leave a negative comment

Just because you dont like cats you dont have to say things that are false and that you know nothing about, a bout frack or marty. That family has rescued cats and other animals from becoming fertilizer, That house needs to be bulldozed or burned to the ground, because of the wild rabies infested racoons and wild animals that are living in there or on the property that are killing neighborhood pets,

Why blame the cat for wandering when a child could easily do the same thing..then what happens if they get hurt?

Seems to me that if this house next door was abandoned for 20 years and the MESS it seems it was... IT was a bigger menace to the neighborhood then this guy. Sure what he did was wrong... but if the story and the details are on the level... I hope the DA's office cuts him loose!

Ummm...Why are the cats outside??? Letting them roam free is like asking for trouble! Poor animals.

So if a child wandered into the yard and hurt themselves or were bitten by a raccoon that would be soley the parents fault? The house shouldn't be in such a bad condition that this could of happened. My animals are my family and if it happened to one of them you can bet I'd be pissed off and want the owner to pay for some if not most of the bill.
Somone needs to get off their arse and fix their house or bulldoze it!

Yes stealing is wrong, but it sounds like the house waws abandoned, so who did he steal from? Leave the guy alone. Doesn't the PD have something better to do?

Creative excuse! Didn't this idiot family know that keeping your cats indoors is a safer option? Irresponsible pet owners! They knew the condition of the house for 20 years and did nothing about it? Ridiculous!
