i just came from a massage at the floris spa. While the message itself was ok...the construction going on next door was completely unbearable. I mentioned it 3 times to the girl doing the message. I might as well have been on a table in the middle of a construction site. Sawing, drilling, banging, things smashing into the wall, men yelling and screaming....i could go on...I could not even hear the "relaxing" music in my room
I mentioned it again when leaving and recieved nothing for my aggravation and discomfort. I thought maybe a small discount would have been in order, or a discount on a future visit. Not only did that not happen, but i asked for a sweedish message, was given a deep tissue, and was then charged for a deep tissue, even though I did no WANT that, and it was a bit to rough for my liking.

I requested a Basic Mani/Pedi at a reasonable cost of $25.00. Where to begin? The male pedicurist hounded me as i was in the chair on 5 seperate occaisions to purchase upcharged services such as a $55.00 spa pedicure, massage etc. I had to decline each time. The pedicare did not coincide with the normal practices that I receive at my normal salon and I did not notice any sanitation procedures utilized to ensure the equipment being used was clean. Emory boards that were used on a previous customer etc. As for the manicure I asked the manicurist to cut my long nails to make them even. She filed them so low that it is actually sensitive to two of my fingers to type this, along with non standard sanitation business practice. I am not a complainer I have never done this before, and in good faith I even still tipped 50% of the bill. However, I was so upset by what happened I had to say something at the front desk. The lady there spoke with the owner on the phone Donna, and persuant to her she offered me to have the service performed again, why would I let her touch me again? I am filing a complaint with NYS Division of Licensing Svc as they did not display the mandatory credentialing needed to perform these services. I feel taken advantage of, they are not capable of performing effectively or in compliance with the sanitary standards required by NYS Department of Cosmetology & Nail services.

People get to know your rights as a consumer!!! NYS Dept of Cosmetology REQUIRES that technicians performeing these services display there license and photo. No one there showed ANY credentialing information.

I don't even bother going to any of these places anymore.

I got athletes foot at one in Wantagh. The instruments used were rusty.(UNBELIEVABLE).

Most of them are extremely nasty. Who needs it?

One of my friend recomended me to go to this new Spa in East Meadow. The place was beautiful! It is big, clean, and all the workers were friendly. I thought $25 for regular manicure&pedicure was a little too much but the service I received was worth it!! I have diabetes so I get worried going to dirty places because in some places they do not sanitize their tools. All the workers here had their tools in a sanitizing envelope. I was very happy with the service that day, I will definetely recommend to all of my friends!!!

I was a big fan of the spa in East Meadow until today. I will no longer go there. I have been going there for a very long time, my daughter goes there and a bunch of friends and family go there as well. I am really upset. I was there on March 17th to have the OPI UV gel manicure done and my daughter came with me to have the same treatment. Your nails should last two to three weeks with this treatment and they do last that long because I have done them in the past. My daugher's polish started peeling off the next day. Mine in three days. She was in Florida so she couldn't go back immediately. She went back there to have her nails repaired and they had the nerve to charge her. They did a horrible job the first time which cost me $85.00 for both of us and then they had the nerve to charge her another $30.00 (The manager "DONNA" gave her a $5.00 discount - Big Deal) So I went back there with my daughter 15 mins later and asked that they give my daughter a refund. She refused. "DONNA" went beserk on us. I asked her if she would rather refund the $30.00 or lose two very good customers. She said she didn't care if she lost us as customers and brought up a time six months ago when I had to cancel a facial. This was bizarre. We asked for a number that we could call to complain and they would not give it to us. I believe that they have to, but we had to do the research and we put a complaint in with corporate and I will be putting in a complaint with the B.B. Bureau. I also noticed the last time that they have become very lax in their cleanliness. My technician started to use an instrument that was used on the woman before me that was left on my table. Be very leary of their services. Maybe they need new management. Very disappointed because I really did love going there.

Nail polish chips when you don't properly take care of your nails. This is not the store's fault. It is yours. Next time, dry your nails thoroughly before leaving the store.

Second, UV gels often need fixing and that's why nail spas have UV FILL INS. This is the same as fixing the UV gel and they cost around $25-30. Any nail salon would've charged you.

if your husband was the man who rudely yelled at my mother the other day, please email me at bbacksue@hotmail.com. you do not have any right to leave without paying for a service and you must CERTAINLY do not have a right to come in and publicly YELL at the owner for your own fault. this is not a business matter, this is now personal. your husband crossed the line. i'll be very happy to set things straight with you.

Recently, I recieved a Japanese straightening treatment at this establishment( if you can call it that) and I was extremely disappointed. My hair dried frizzy and unmanageable and I was reduced to straightening my hair with my flat iron. The Japanese straightening should dry completely straight without any effort once you come out of the shower. The hairdresser Choi is really incompetent and worked on 4 people at the same time when I was there. And to boot... I called to complain and I was hung up on. The manager was nowhere to be found , but they sure knew how to take my over 200 dollars!!! I believe the only reason this place is in business is its appearance. BEWARE of these scam artists, especially if you are having your hair done. Your better off going to professionals, who know how to do hair. THEY DONT GIVE REFUNDS , THEY JUST OFFER TO SCREW UP YOUR HAIR EVEN MORE FOR FREE....
What a mistake!! To all the googlers out there, you have been forewarned!!

I came here with my mother in law about 5 days ago and it was WONDERFUL. I got a spa pedicure and a massage and they were both excellent. I usually don't write these reviews but the place was so clean and the workers are very professional. I gave 20 dollars tip because it was very relaxing. I would definetly go back to this spa!

I'm surprised to hear such negative comments from this place. I have been going to Floris E.M. with my friend for a while now and we love it! The staff is very friendly and knowledgable and the place is just gorgeous. I received a gift certificate there for a mani/pedi and they originally began doing them both at the same time. When I told them it was a little too much for me to be done at the same time they apologized and waited until my pedi was done to start on my fingers. They even offered me a free 10 min massage to relax me after. Until I see otherwise I will continue to enjoy my relaxing visits to Floris.

I used to like this place. I had gotten the uv gel nails a while back and it was time they came off. The owner/manager Donna started prying the uv coats off with a metrocard! When I asked her to stop because of the pain, she said the pain was from my nails being so thin and said the uv nails weren't put on right and that's why it was so difficult to get off. I told her i got it done at her shop; its the only place i go. Then the top of my nail ripped down to the nailed from her stupid metrocard trick. They couldn't finish the manicure because of the pain I was in. She was so unapologetic and rude. I'll never go back there again.

I have been going to the East Meadow Floris for several months on and off. My 80 year old father asked me to take him for a pedicure so I took him there on Saturday. When we walked in he was escorted to the other side and I was left to pick a color. When I joined him at the pedicure stations I found that he was "talked(pushed)into" buying the $65.00 pedicure!!! I flipped! They are unbelievable to knowingly take advantage of an elderly man. NO ONE needs a $65.00 pedicure. He got the spa callous pedi instead but we should have walked out right then because the service was awful thereafter. It took over 2 hours with a lot of waiting in between. I won't go there again.

I've jus discovered FLORIS about a Month ago, and must say I AM quite happy so far with my results :))) I've had 2Manis (Joanne/Ann) a Facial (joanne) and a most Amazing Deep tissue Aroma Therapy Massage (Sunny) and last but not least, a great Pedi (Sam). Everyone so far has been friendly and very Professional. The Ambiance of the place is very calm/relaxing. When all is said and done, I walk out of the place very relaxed and HAPPY!!!!!!
