It's sad to see a former criminal court bureau chief under Denis Dillion's regime whining about the system he so dearly embraced for so many years.Pacing the visitors parking lot outside the Nassau County jail in East Meadow yesterday, Ronald Schoenberg threw up his arms in annoyance.
"There are some times you have to see someone," said Schoenberg, a criminal lawyer from Mineola who needed to visit a client at the jail. "Nobody knows what's going on."
"There's a lot of people who are being inconvenienced," Schoenberg said. "It's a colossal waste of time."
It's horrifying that an attorney of Mr. Schoenberg's ilk should be working on a Saturday, attempting to lend aid to people he once prosecuted.
Why is it Mr. Ronald Schoenberg retired from a prestigious job with the NCDA, only to find himself pacing the parking lot of a county correctional facility on a Saturday? I wonder if he enjoys being treated like an average schmuck?
