Probably not, just doesn't want big brother watching him.
Given the number of EZ-Pass users, I doubt "Big Brother" would be interested or even have the time to track the whereabouts of individuals for no obvious benefit. Face it, most of us just aren't that interesting.

Not me. I'll just take those little toll receipts instead. My tax preparer and the IRS say they're perfectly ok.
I'm just not inclined to pay for the privilege of fattening any data banks. But, that's me.

EZ-Pass doesn't cost you anything, and they help alleviate traffic at toll locations. Do you use a cell phone? You know they can track you that way too?

That is true, but it can be turned off.
And toll booths can be avoided.

Besides, when was the last time you turned off a cell phone because you were concerned about someone tracking you? You'd have to be really paranoid to believe anyone would be interested in tracking your whereabouts.

Not turn of the cell phone but turn off the location privacy.
Last year I started filtering my water to remove all the flouride. That way only the green men can find me, not the orange men.

Personally, I would be flattered if they started tracking me. My life has been relatively uneventful and downright boring ever since I was aquitted of that canabalism charge.

Location privacy? Perhaps you are not aware of how cell phones work. When they are on, they are in constant communication with all the cell towers within its range. This is done to know where which tower to route incoming calls, as well as which tower to use for outgoing calls.

Of course, this technology also allows authorities to use triangulation to pinpoint the general vicinity of the cell phone. Other than turning the cell phone off, this cannot be disabled. It is core functionality.

My general point being you cannot escape being tracked one way or another, and EZ Pass would be the least of your problems.

BTW - you can also put your EZ Pass into the little silver envelope they come with and it prevents the signal from being readable.

I have ez pass because I'm type A and want to decrease the traveling misery as much as possible.

And I don't care who knows where I am.

(If you wrap your ez pass thing in foil - that will do it - otherwise I know of a guy who had his in the glove box - and thought it was inactive - was paying cash at the tolls for months - and didn't realize he was also being charged on the ez pass!)

If anybody wants to know where I am...just call me on my cell phone...I'll tell you!
