I think your date for Hartford is wrong, Riverfrontrecapture.com has it as July 5th.

It's definitely a money issue with towns. Seeing that towns have to pay overtime to employees for the fireworks shows at time & a half opposed to double time or double time & a half on the actual Holiday. BUT, I believe that we, as a country have lost something along the way by not celebrating the 4th of July on July 4th. Heck, some towns do it at the end of June, others at the end of July. Ask yourself, "What is the 4th of July all about?" That's almost like seeing Christmas trees in the stores BEFORE Halloween!!!

Thank you for listing these different fireworks locations; I only wish there was a corresponding map somewhere on the page, so that a new kid on the block would know where these were.

I second the above comment posted by Tom, in Ellington, CT. I moved here from Chicago last November, and was very accustomed to watching fireworks either on Independence Eve or Independence Day; it didn't matter.

Please also note that I live in Old Saybrook, not Westbrook. Thank you.

I am glad to see that I'm not the only one annoyed about so few towns holding fireworks on July 4th. I have been living in here for 6 years, a transplant from Minneapols, and I still can't get used to it.

I think you all should be GRATEFUL for ANY towns who are having ANY fireworks this year on ANY day. Quit your complaining, stay home, or go back to Minneapolis.
