Shelby was a close friend of the family and I knew how well he loved his son and tried to help him. Shelby tried to get him into the therapy and counseling that he needs and to help him get off of drugs. Shelby did everything he could to help his son. Shelby helped everyone that had a need. Many people have said to me since his death how he helped people who had needs such as not enough food, older poeple whose houses needed repairs etc. He was a kind person. Its such a tragedy that his kid killed him to get some money. And seeing how travis treated him and demanded money all the time from him, I belive that this is what it is all about. I also know that Travis has been charged with shooting a gun in Alaska and cruelty to animals. And I know that his ex wife had numerous protective orders because he is so violent

Shelby Miller was my best friend. He was the purest man that I know. Shelby was a faithful member of the church. His belief in God was strong and steadfast. He lived his life to help others. Shelby went beyond all measures to benefit the lives of other people.Shelby asked for nothing in return. He took in homeless, fed the poor, and befriended the friendless. Even in his death, he tried to help his son Travis who murdered Shelby. Shelby was a VERY proud father of 3 and even prouder grandfather of 5. God and his family was the center of his life. If you knew Shelby you were proud to say he was your friend. He was very involded with the youth program at the church. He loved being with the children and ministering to them. Every place Shelby Miller went he planted the seeds of life. Wether it was the grocery store, work, the streets, shopping malls, he was there spreading his goodwill. Trust me when I tell you the world who knew Shelby miss him. I loved him with my every being. It is a shame that his life had to end because he was out to help his son.
