You vote to keep this open but you vote to allow marijuana. I have never been to Steve's but I pray he goes in the right direction.

Nothing good comes to anyone after midnight. Steve might be a great guy. His BBQ is worth a visit, but a bunch of soused bikers and college kids mixing it Uptown with the professional drinkers who are on their porches every night is a receipe for disaster.

We don't have enough police to protect Uptown because they are watching a Santa Fe Springs trophy shop.

April 2010 vote for anyone except Nordbak. This clown has been up to bat for too long. It is time to throw him out at the plate. He has his kid working for the police department he supervises, and he works for a trash company while setting their outrageous rates.

April 2010. The end of an error.

Well thank the powers that be! Nothing like having the city run your business (into the ground). So what if they sell alcohol? Selling alcohol is not against the law. They still have to abide by the rule of the liquor board. Good luck to them. I do not drink but I am not apposed to people that do.

City Council need to inquire about his consulting firm before the DA gets involved, because he will fall under conflict of interest.

Nordbak is only on council for personal gain

Steves Bbq is a cool place to visit. The music is great and the people there are just want to have a nice time dancing. I have never seen any trouble there (NO BIKERS OR GANGSTERS) They have security at the door with metal detectors so I feel safe once I walk in. Uptown needs to upgrade its weekend nightlife and Steves bbq is the place hopefully the other small pubs will follow.

A couple federal agents and a patty wagon would have a field day there.

This is the situation where that tragic incident is waiting to happen where lives are sacrificed in order to apply a change in the law.

It's all about the alcohol sales... Uptown is doomed... Just you all wait and see.. It's going to explode... The Town will go up in smoke.. If Steve's BBQ is so good, why does he have to stay open until 2am???? That's because his ribs suck and his money comes via the alcohol sales... Just remember this blog...

Isnt it self-explanitory if an establishment requires a metal detector for safety?

You haven't been there in a while. Bikers don't go anymore, nor do any cholos. That's just a lie based on nothing :)

Do you mean like Downtown Fullerton. They must be doomed too. I'll be sure to remember this incoherent rambling on this blog.

They were ordered to do so to stay in compliance. Metal detectors add safety to any establishment. Many nightclubs have metal detectors SO WHAT! It shows the establishment is taking extra measures to ensure the safety of its patrons. If you dont like Steves BBQ then stay home lock your door at 6 p.m. and mind your own business. There have not been any incidents there not like Ibizas.

I agree with you. Yes, they were ordered to do so and be in compliance, but obviously for a reason. They are taking extra measures to make it safe. i would feel safer too if the guns and knives were caught at the door. however, what makes me scratch my head is for some reason they were brought to the establishment in the 1st place. Hmmm, maybe that's just normal to you?

It's the places that DONT have sensors and security that i care to patron. Why? because they obviosuly don't need all that security to ensure the safety for their patrons.
