BEWARE young women and parents. This organization is all a scam to get your money. They continued to collect applications right up until the week prior to the pageant (to collect sponsorship money). All the while those who joined during the summer (5 months before), put in ALOT of time and effort in attending functions and practices. While those who applied 1-2 weeks before the pageant reap all the rewards of winning a title. It's not fair to the girls who have committed themselves early on and attended pretty much everything. No deadline for applications was ever put in effect making the whole experience for those who applied early and dedicated themselves to this pageant and who collected sponsorship money, parents’ time, etc. seem worthless and rewardless in the end. NOT GOOD! No, not bitter because my daughter did not win a title; bitter because some of those that did win only went to 3-4 practices and attended zero functions. While my daughter attended practices and functions for 5 months and received nothing whatsoever. It would have been VERY different if all the girls began at the same and it wouldn't hit soooo hard if a title wasn't won knowing that they ALL were committed and put forth the same effort. Word to the Miss Whittier organization: "Set a deadline for applications and stick to it. The girls are more important than the money."

My sincerest congratulations to the girls who were comitted for the 5 months and won a title and to those that were committed for the 5 months and didn't win, you did an awesome job. More important than winning is having a winning attitude and walking away with your head held high on a smile on your face which you did! Great job.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I have no experience with this particular organization so this comment is not meant badly towards or said about this particular event but, we had somewhat of a bad experience when it comes to community programs and how much money is more important than quality and how little it's really about the kids. Our kids tried their hardest to save a very important program even going in front of parks and recreation but in the end money won to the detriment of alot of kids that put alot of time into their particular passion.

this is true, i know 2 of the girls that received a title. One just signed up about 2 weeks prior and the other signed up 5-6 months ago and she worked very hard. they should have deadlines, not no 2 weeks before the competition. I agree with you.

Contestants were well aware of the deadline dates. Those who entered early still competed against others who entered late. That was YOUR choice. It simply sour grapes to complain about this.
