Southern California Edison Co. has given a $50,000 grant to the Whittier Conservancy to build a rest stop on the Greenway Trail near Palm Park.

I do not understand where Edison has $25K then $50K to give away? Everyone in Whittier has to get their electricity from Edison. Electricity is a necessity. Our rates go up and we are told it's either from increasing costs or the need to research new green energy sources. Edison must be making a profit. Edison is to supply the public with a necessity of life. There really is no need for Edison to promote Public Relations in the community with money obtained by over charging that same community.

I agree 100%. If they are going to be spending that kind of money they should be "oh I don't know" trying to upgrade the failing Infrastructure in the South and West part of town.
