I bought 11 new Ford products and have help countless family members buy new Ford products in my 33 years. Now Ford is making me park my trucks at home, they laid me off. I wouldn't bite the hand that feeds me because I think it is starting to rot. At least it's starting to omit a foul odor.

The UAW actually got a publicity black eye over such an endeavor a little while ago. A bunch of Marines either returning from or training to head out to Iraq (I forget which) were stationed at a base in Detroit needed additional parking. The UAW decided as a gesture of goodwill to our soldiers to allow them to park at the big lot at Solidarity House. Lo and behold, many of the marines were driving vehicles that were foreign-made (or had Bush stickers), which as a rule, are not allowed to park on the UAW lot. So the UAW turned em away. After public backlash for not supporting the troops, Gettelfinger tried to mollify the situation by waiving the US-only rule for the soldiers. But the damage had been done, the army officers were angry, and they said nevermind. Best quote, from the Lt. in charge: "You don't come into my office and say,'OK, we're not going to support some of your Marines.' I don't know what a foreign car is today anyway. BMWs are made in South Carolina now." Ha!

What makes it a foreign car is when $92.00 of every $100.00 profit goes to a country other then the good old USA.

When Ford and any other car manufacturer makes a reliable, better built vehicle than the imports then I will listen to you.

The key word there is profit. What about the $2000 LOSS that GM and Ford choke down when they sell a new car? Does that mean by purchasing a domestic car you are contributing to their losses? Seems like net economics is at work here.

I love it when you morons start in on the "ole topic of Made in the USA crap." The majority of parts that go on a Ford are made overseas. Keep looking stupid, it's entertaining.
