Thank you soooooooooooooooo much to the Hemet city council. Thank you for opening up what was once a peaceful, quiet serene valley to ALL the unchecked, out of control growth brought in by ALL the developers that have now raped the land and bagged the money and are now sipping tropical drinks with the little umbellas's in them, on a sunny beach somewhere far far away from the mess they have left behind, with a glut of un-saleable houses while they plan their next raids. We now have derelicts breaking into gated complexes raping senior citizens, street shootouts, armed robberies, bank holdups, low income housing projects, little gangster wannabes roaming the streets..........everything I moved here to get away from. YOU SUCK !!!

It does suck. I've lived in Hemet for 19 years and was very happy. Too many houses and traffic. I was happy when Hemet was considered a retirement city. Not so much now. Now I hear sirens all the time and even see helicopters flying at night, circling areas with their search light on. Geez.
Next move we are getting out of Kaleeefornia. Government is doing a great job of ruining our country. |

Move to Murrieta or Temecula, That is the only answer. The cops are just as bad. If they saw a 5 year old being used as a sheild the should not have returned fire. Lucky for them she only received a shot to the leg. The Lord is good! That little girl could probably own Hemet if somebody represents her pro-bono. Mark Garegos, were are you? I got a case for you..........

Hemet or Hell....you are an idiot. She would have been dead. Did you read the story? Her father just murdered her mother, fired at police while fleeing, and then got out of the vehicle holding her and firing at police. According to you they should have said..."oops..sorry, I guess you are serious..we will leave now."

I can't believe that so many people believe police defenses in the newspapers, or on tv as fact! I have family from LAPD, and my child was killed by a Temecula serviced Riverside County deputy. Their responses are so scripted. The news muttled our story up so badly over the first year, or so, that no one could make heads or tails of what they were trying to say was fact. ALSO, no one has tried to talk to me about what exactly were the reasons that they killed my son in the first place. Anyway, don't believe what you read unless it's directly from the source, hopefully a non-corrupt one.

Yes and did you notice and I always notice this Its always how they dont know how it happend and how It could have been the criminal did It How could they not know in the first place It was there gun who shot this child and not the father he was holding her what he pointed the gun at hinself tords her leg Give me a break they shot her and they know darn well It was there fault in the first place I just cant beleive even know he was using her as a sheild they were shotting like they say they had to and taking the chance of her being killed Poor things. Perosnally I think It would have been safer for her to let him run and drop her somwhere and than find him at least she would be garentee a future And another thing they always say how there life was in danger what about the baby hmm what her life isn,t Important |

A homicide suspect was fatally shot early today during a confrontation with police and sheriff's deputies in Hemet, and the 5-year-old girl he used as a shield was wounded, authorities said.

Reports that the child was Roberts' daughter have not been confirmed. The gun battle started about 12:15 a.m. after deputies were sent to investigate a report of shots fired in the 43000 block of C Street, said Investigator Jerry Franchville of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. The caller reported that a person had been shot and that a suspect had fled in a white van -- with children inside it, Franchville said. A deputy spotted the vehicle, but Roberts refused to comply with orders to pull over, authorities said. During the ensuing chase, he shot at deputies, according to Franchville. Roberts eventually stopped at Harvard Street and Mayberry Avenue in Hemet, but he remained inside the van, Franchville said. As deputies and Hemet police officers approached the vehicle, Roberts -- holding the 5-year-old girl -- got out of the van, Franchville said. ``He used the kid as a shield,'' said a deputy district attorney who was at the shooting scene and asked not to be identified. Roberts allegedly started to shoot at law enforcement officers, and deputies returned fire. The girl, who was struck on the leg, was in stable condition at a hospital, Franchville said. It was unclear who fired the shot that hit her. A second child, a 3-year-old boy, was found in the van uninjured, Franchville said. Deputies who went to the scene of the original shots-fired call found a woman dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound, Franchville said. The Riverside County Coroner's Office identified her as 27-year-old Ana Maria Roberts. The four deputies involved in the confrontation have been placed on paid administrative leave, pending further investigation. It was not immediately clear whether any Hemet officers were placed on leave. A call to the police station was not returned. Neighbors were shocked at the shootings, NBC4 reported. Dexter Willard said it had to be a tough decision for police and deputies to fire back when the suspect was shooting at them, even though he was holding a child. ``What do you do, you know?'' Willard said. |

When my dad first got the phone call from my hysterical sister we knew something was wrong, when my dad told me my heart had stopped and I had to rethink what he was telling me! It just wasn’t processing! The next day we made our 300 mile trip down to Hemet. It was horrible; you had to cry for Anna, her four young children, and my aunt and uncle. It’s awful to leave the world that way and even more that he had taken her life! On behalf of my family I would like thank everyone who gave their love, support, and prayers, it meant a lot to us!!
Thank you! |

It is a good reason for the city to issue CCW's to all law abiding citizens, not just Chief Dana's buddies. The criminals don't want us to have CCW because they carry guns anyhow. |
