My sorrow goes out to their families. New Haven is become murder central. I would not go there for any reason. I am willing to bet that they were shot because some idiot thought his team was better than theirs - what a good reason to shoot and kill to people!!!!
I hope they find this beast and give him the death penalty.

I hate to inform you, but New Haven and Hartford have much higher crime rates than Bridgeport.

the availability of guns is what's the problem.. I've over heard, what looked to be, 17 year olds talking about how their boy can get them some heaters for cheap.. young kids/adults can get their hands on guns easier and they use them for the wrong reasons and it's hard to trace it back to em since they aren't registered.. it's too bad these guys were killed, who knows what happened.. maybe it was an argument that escalated or they were getting robbed.. what happened to a good old ass beating?? why couldn't they have just fought over it, if anything... not the best area to go watch a basketball game!! people go to that area to go to either 1) go to a strip club, or 2) go to a hooded out club where they check you for weapons when you go in... i feel really bad for the friends & families of the victims i know how it feels

New Haven is not nearly as bad as it was in late 80's to mid 90's. it is actually very tame and safe these days.

Are you kidding? All kids go through a rough spot. Why judge the past? How many of you knew him recently? This is a disgrace. He was a good man and will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to his family and the girls.

Unfortunately availability of guns is not the cause here; it’s an easy thing to blame guns to avoid discussing the real cause/reason of/for this tragic shooting. The cause in this case, as in many cases, is that people choose to use a gun (or knives or car in other cases) to end their arguments or perceived disagreements rather than words. And it's a good bet the person who did the shooting was not licensed to have or own the firearm so by law they were already performing a criminal act by merely possessing the gun outside of their home. And there in lies the problem. People hear or see others having or possessing guns who they know are not licensed to own (teenagers for example), should be calling the police to report that person for committing a criminal act. But most people don’t (for many reasons), but then these very same people go on to say it's guns that are to blame for all crimes that happen in New Haven. No it’s not the gun, knife, car that’s at fault; it’s the person behind it who’s at fault. Why do so many people have trouble making that distinction? Banning the implement used while someone is committing a crime doesn’t stop the crime from happening. If you saw an unlicensed driver driving a car we’d call the police right? So why don’t people do the same when they see someone who illegally possesses a gun (especially a teenager who cannot by law have one)? Finally, the bigger problem, that this unfortunate incident illustrates and that were are beginning to be confronted with is the general moral breakdown of civility and responsibility in this state. These god awful murders and the unfortunate man run over up in Hartford recently illustrate this. People blame the gun or those that didn’t help rather than the people who actually pulled the trigger or drove the car. So long as people are selfish and uncivil toward their fellow man, they will use a gun, knife, car or any other instrument to harm another over a perceived slight or perceived disagreement.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Scorpio

If you've been surrounded by people during the past few days you welcome the chance to have some time to yourself today. It's a wonderful excuse to do something really indulgent in private, such as scoff a whole box of chocolates while watching a favourite film on TV. But make sure you destroy all the evidence before everyone else comes home!
