Regarding the American Idol, I think the show should stop while it is ahead, especially since when you watch American Idol rewind the only one they show is Kelly Clarkson, what happened to the other Idols???

How do I sign up for tickets? Hate the trip to the city.

I wish them all the best - Smithtown's Performing Arts Center has been a fantastic way to see live entertainment. I have seen great performances of shows for under $30. Never have I walked away disappointed.

If Northport's theater is going to employ professional actors it will require higher ticket prices which may or may not make it harder to break even.

I will give at least one of the upcoming shows a chance - I support any endeavor that will keep live theater strong on Long Island.

Regional theater is great! We have season tickets to Theater Three in Port Jeff, and the shows are very good for the most part, you can't beat the commute, and the prices are right. I look forward to this new venue.

who in their right mind would pay $55 for a night in Northport? perhaps these long islanders should go into the city more for some culture, or i guess they just want to go out in the husbands sweats and sneakers as usual.

I'm not convinced that this is going to be a winning venue. $55 for a northport might still be alittle steep without all the flare and magic of a real broadway show. And who says NYC actors are any better than some of the really good Long Island Actors. I think you'd be better off supporting loacl communities and spending $20 and seeing a show at TTG, Broadhollow, Star, Theater Three or any one of a dozen local venues that give long island actors a chance to show their craft.

This is a great idea. Northport is a beautiful town and there are about a dozen nice restaurants along the Main street leading to the harbor.

Many of us "hicks" from Northport have been to the big city. Many of us were born there. Some of us pooor country folk are actors ,lawyers and building and business owners in Manhattan. Heck, we even had a redneck that commuted to NYC in an Aqua Plane. Clothes? Yeah, we have some nice clothes. We should. Some of us own the clothing companies. But the best thing is that we are regular folk and don't really talk much about our sucesses unless we encounter malcontents like "they are joking"

Yeah, we are malcontents. That's because all those city people moved out here. Long Island was once a nice place. Now we have to look at litter and homes with trash all over the property (Drive around in winter with no trees to cover up all the junk) Look at how the people dress in public- slobs! It's funny but when you travel to other states you can always tell a Long Islander- their usually in sweat pants or tank tops! Oh, I guess that's what passes for regular folks these days.

hey Tom, seriously, we all know you "hicks" dont talk about your sucesses, you wear it on your sleeves the first dime you make. and guess your really not that succesfull living in northport, try moving west a few towns over with the rest of us "hicks" turned hedge fund managers. We grew up here, we didnt move here from queens. we believe in supporting local businesses, but they should lower the prices to match what you are getting. you ask manhattan prices, then deliver manhattan products. ie restaurants.
