It must be awkward to have a date with all the secret service people hovering around! Like teens out on their first date having to be driven both ways by Mom and Dad!!! ;-)

Good Bubba let your tax dollars pay for there little date night. It is nauseating and so are you. Real President my fanny ,I was from Illinois and know what this man did not do in the Senate. Was not and is not qualified to lead the country. It will be tax, tax, and more tax with everything this man has spent. He has spent more in 5 months then any sitting president in their entire term.

Think the poor people could take date night off their taxes?? I hope the OBAMA'S are using their own money for all this including the plane fare to NY something most taxpayers can't afford..

I want to gag....are you really still all starry eyed over the obamas? Most of us are trying to get through each month paying our bills, hoping we aren't the next one to be laid off, hoping our kids have a future after this jerk continues his tax and spend b.s. Oh yeah, and now we have nuclear missiles pointed in our direction. Sweet.

We'd love to have date nights, but have to work instead to pay for Lord Obama's expensive tastes and all the damage he's done to the taxpayers in such a short period of time.

What a couple of freeloaders.

We are so poor, after paying taxes, college costs (we get no help from anyone and both have 2 jobs to make ends meet even for a state university), and the price of gas to get to work that we are lucky to afford mac and cheese for a typical evening together.

Hubby finished a master's degree last year, and the response is "so what". The American dream is now just that: a dream. Sometimes, we feel like we are just waiting to die instead of living. A "date night" is a slap in the face for the average American. we can barely afford to rent a DVD. Glad the Obamas are so blessed.

I've got the same lifestyle you do, but keep the faith, things will improve. what I can't tolerate with the Obama date night is the $2 million in my money they spent for one night out in New York city (I've never been). He should have spent his own money, not mine. I work 14 hours a day to earn my and pay my taxes.

Give me a break.... most of us raise our kids by doing without and that means a so called date night. It is a sad commentary on this society when the "wants" of a mother and father super cede the needs of their children.

Where in the article did it say that their date cost $2 million? I looked and looked and couldn't find it, although sometimes I miss those kinds of things.

Also, what makes you think the taxpayers paid for it? Neither of the Obamas were exactly poverty stricken before, so I'm sure they could have paid for it themselves and see no information in the article that indicates they did not.

I do understand your points. I just don't know where you got that information.

I have no problem with the Obamas doing the "date night" routine, I just wish they would lower the bar and have their "date night" right there in their own DC neighborhood. Then the world would appreciate their being just like the rest of us!

Valerie and Tommy Rey, teachers in suburban Maryland and parents of 2-year-old twins, take turns planning their bimonthly date nights. "Once a month I do it, and once a month he does,"

If they go out twice a month, it is semi-monthly, not bi-monthly. If you are going to attempt to be a journalist, at least learn the language.

It's funny watching the media try and create another "Tabloid Presidency" like the public had with Jackie O and JFK. Not gonna happen though, Michelle Chewbacca is no Jackie Onassis. And president barry is about as slick as sandpaper.

I would rather the "journalists" at the Tribune actually do their jobs and advise the public on how much taxpayer money is used to fund the obama's date nights. I won't hold my breathe.

Um, you and I (and every other TAXPAYING citizen) pay every time either one of these shleps so much as sets foot outside of the White House. So don't be so naive to think that Barry wrote a check to the US Treasury reimbusing all of us for his "date night" in NYC. Heck, he can just schedule a speaking engagement anywhere in the world, whenever he wants, and his "date nights" are covered as business expenses. But as so many other people have commented, it really is nice to have a "man of the people" in the White House now. It's plainly obvious that he understands the plight of Average Joe American--who can't even afford to go down to the local movie theater with his wife. Change you can believe in, yes sir!

I don't know about you but I want to be sure that our leader and chief (the one who can push the button) is as stress free as possible. That includes no sexual tensions!

Seriously how much of their lives do the Obamas or any public servant have to give up for us? A lot but this isn't one of them.

Let them have date night. The secret service is watching them with our tax dollars date night or not.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Leo

There's an erratic quality to the day, thanks to the Full Moon in emotional Cancer, combined with a lunar eclipse. Loved ones are likely to behave in ways you hadn't counted on. The only way to cope with this is to be as flexible as possible. Someone might change an arrangement at the eleventh hour so you have to think on your feet, or others may be determined to do their own thing even though it doesn't suit you. Get any arguments out of the way quickly so you can enjoy your New Year's Eve celebrations with a glad heart.
