Democrat Congressman Steve Israel took campaign money from a convicted felon. Not just your run of the mill felon. This felon was convicted in federal court. The judge deemed him to be a national security risk to the country. His name was Parvez Lavi. His crime was selling F-14 engine parts to Iran by way of a third country. These parts would have helped the Iranian Islamic fascist regime to get aging American aircraft bought under the Shah back into the air. This would have been used against American and Israeli (the nation) interests. This was done in the late 1990's. The arms dealer was convicted and had to pay a large fine and prison sentence of several years. Yet in early 2000's when Congressman Israel was running for congress he accepted thousands upon thousands of dollars from the felon. Since Steve Israel also sat on the armed services committee at the time you think he would have been diligent on who he accepted money from. These disturbing facts were first noted in the Huffington Post and can easily be fact checked. So why the media silence on this ? Our media is suppose to be the fourth estate to help maintain a free and open society. I'm afraid that no longer exists.
