THIS IS NEWS?
More fine journalism by this rag of a paper.
Maybe they used N/e/w/s/d/a/y to line the floor of the plane.

You're kidding right?

Let's forget about world peace for a while.......

Just goes to show some individuals have way too much money.

I'd allow the pets to live and 86 the owners..... permanently.

This is a feature piece...not everything written in a newspaper is hard news. Relax. Is every moment you breathe occupied by meaningful moments or have you sat down to watch a sports event or a cartoon.
Geez your life is pretty lousy if you have to pick on a news story to feel superior.

There are six billion people on the planet. I have no doubt that newsday could find something at least a little more important to report.

It is much more likely that this piece is someone doing a favor for the owner to promote his business for free and at our expense.

Looks like not everyone is feeling the crunch of these hard economic times.

Its not about the money. It is about being able to take your companion animals with you in a safe and reliable manner.

World event, no...but to pet owners this is news. No more "at our expense" than any other blurb on air lines opening up new routes.

Not exactly. These people can only afford to send their pets on vacation. They're staying behind ... in Mastic.

I am vehemently opposed to this. IMO, humans have rights but animals do not. Animals should be treated like animals. Anyone who uses this airline is an idiot.

another example of people caring more about animals then their own fellow humans. its crazy how much money we spend in this country on animals. like when humans were dying in new orleans and all you people cared about was the stupid dogs.

Animals dont have rights? So you think that its perfectly OK for someone to kill or mutilate a dog or cat because you dont feel that these animals have any rights?

You make me sick

Yeah, cause those people in New Orleans were told to leave and CHOSE not to! The pets didnt have a choice as their owners were told that they couldnt bring them with them.

I'll bet these dogs are treated better than the people on American airlines.

On the internet, no one knows your co-pilot is a dog.
