Republic airport employs 24 hour airport operations officers that are supposed to patrol the airport. Where the hell were they?

Obviously they are ill prepared to handle zombies. I mean, you see a dude walking around with no shoe and torn clothing and no jacket all bloody in the cemetery, you better be ready. Does the Department of Hopeless Insecurity have contingency plans to deal with the zombie threat?

He should switch from flight training to brain surgery when he gets out of his 3 day jail sentence.

You are so right - where is the security - could have been tampering with a/c - Security? Yeha, right.

Guys, I trained with the defendant and he always seemed like a nice guy, but I cold tell something was bothering him-- anyone know how long of a sentence hes looking at?
If it was just 3rd degree burglary it would be a couple of years, but that fire he started means Arson which is decades behind bars

First of all the security at Republic is a joke. I hope this incident lights a fire under their a$$ to seriously do a more professional job and stop selling an illusion of security for the money they're getting on the badge system.

This dude is just sad. All that money spent on flight training and this is how he decides to end it. He's probably the nicest guy on earth, but certainly not the brightest guy. And he's definitely a poor ninja.:)

susie--

ok i tooka few instrument lessons with him-- hes a chubby, slightly sarcastic guy with classes, with a thick new york accent--

he just seemed like a regular guy, a bit shy, but i never expected anything like this-- i heard that he was not fired, and nothing appears to have happened at the flight school to have set him off--

as far as blowing the whistle? what whistle? the school has become the premier flight school on long island (albeit expensive as hell and hard to train at unless u are rich or saved lots of money)--

and cristian was brought in to meet the demand as they only had a few instructors for increased demand by students--- he definitely knew how to fly, this is totally insane and very atypical for the aviation comunity--

i know he used to curse often, but so does everyone in aviation, so there was really no warning that this was about to happen at all--

additionally, he was a bit stupid because he got in with his security badge, which records the identity of the person entering the gate, duh, and the video cameras captured him placing the computers in his car--

it is a very sad case
