No, I do not think Andy could do the job we need in this county. He would spend way too much time and energy on partisan things that would not elevate the county out of the crap hole we are now stuck in. We need leaders that do not have any personal agendas, and that will put the interests of the citizens first and foremost in all dealings. We need transparency, not the secrecy that currently surrounds the county's business, we need more scrutiny on the spending of the tax money, not the rubber stamping dudes we currently have, we need some ethics training, we need a citizens advisory committee to work with the county officials to promote citizen input, we need better accountability as far as audits go, Oh, we need a whole lot of things we currently do not have. As far as Andy goes, let's leave him right where he is, helping Rick and Jerry, and selling real estate.

now that is pretty funny, idon't care who ya are.

Personal agenda?. I kno for a fact that his first day in office he passed the flood insurance program. He told me repeatedly thta he knew it was the toughest decision he ever made. How did that turn out for alexander county. I'll tell you. Thank God he made that deccision. We got over 7 million dollars in direct grants to our freidns and neighbhors for their damages. How did that work out for the people in mcclure ? They voted themsleves out of the flood prgram. How mchh did they get?

Audits? I think if you checked, Andy had them every year with an 'A' rating. That's pretty transpartent. And was far as financial dealing, the county deficiit was less than $250,000 instead of the $500,000 it is now.

Transparency? he was tougher on our people negotiting contracts than anyone. We had to take pay freezes every year he was there. I used to argue with him routinely over money, but he was always fair with our insurance and pensions.

What is left on partisan crap anyway. The Democrats in springfield don't care about who is hired down here. The republicans put their own people in the prison system and the democrats are putting the republicans into the systme as well. Who gives a crap about partisan stuff anymore anyway. I know I don't and i know andy did not care who got the jobs.

I disagree with you. I wish he was back in politcs. He, however, is just sitting back drawing his pension, enjoying all the good times. and what the hell would an advisory committee do anyway. I would love to see that circus. Cairo had one for a while and that was always quite a show. howd that work out ?

and as far was jerry, Andy fought the Hushpuppy hard, but Angela Greenwell and Richard Thomspon spent thousands to drag him thru the mud. They got McClure incorporated, the Hushpuppy is still a shit hole which has routinely been busted for drugs and had a murder there, but nothing has happned to them and they still have no flood insurance. and Angela did such a great job, we got every raise we asked for, plus every perk we asked for and our dificit is now about $600,000. She did good.

If andy wants to make money for a chnage, I hope he makes a million.

Thank you all for the comments, pro and con. I will never run for politics again. I promise ! Life is much too good to ever even begin to think about subjecting myself to that mayhem again.

If Andy did such a splendid job then why is the county in such desparate straits at this time. I know he pushed the flood program, and it throttled the building of new structures within the county. Who wants to be 10 feet in the air sitting on stilts? And the 7 million you state came from a lot of folks that do not live in flood zones, and should not be billed for those who do live in them. Where do you think the 7 million came from, anyway?
And why did the voters of this county turn him out of office. He may have been dragged through the mud, but it seems a lot of it stuck. I don't know what planet you are living on, but certainly Andy cares about who gets the local jobs. They have to be Democrats. And as far as audits go, you need to go to the clerk's office, and carefully read the sudit exceptions that appeared each and every yesr. This county has been under Democrat control for several years, and we are in desparate need of new leadership, with a vision for improving things. Now don't go jumping up and down telling me we currently have a Republican county board chairman. He has taken his marching orders from the Democrat machine in Cairo from day one. How many Republicans has he appointed to committees, and commissions? None that I know of. Go peddle your biased opinion somewhere else. I ain't buying it.

Funny

most places don't have to be 10 feet in air. The places that did build up, didn't get any water, now did they. And the $7M came from FEMA. from people in other flood plains. If I amint mistaken, thats what insurance does, spreads the risk across the country.

If we were not in the flood program, we wouldn't got shit. So yeah, good job Andy. Spill the beans big shot, audit exceptions? What are they? Again, good job Andy !

Guess What? angela blasted him on the flood program from A to Z, and guess what genius, on her first day in office, she voted to keep it. Guess she was pretty smart. Drag him thorugh the mud, endorse what he did. Politics at the very best.

peddle your bs else where, cuase I aint buying your crap. I still wish he would run for office again. And I bet ya one thing, he would win by a landslide this time.

Ya'll should be looking Angela Greenwell's way instead of Andy's... she did most of the damage, and is a DEVIL!!!!!(speaking of people with agendas). Good for you, Andy, finally deciding to get out of the mahem and enjoy life a little bit.

Doesn't matter, I plan to move out of this county and this Socialist state as soon as I can. Never have I seen the corruption that pervades this area anywhere other than Chicago.

By the way, the money from FEMA comes from ALL TAXPAYERS, not just those who buy flood insurance.

Why is everyone in Alexander County always so critical of everyone else in Alexander County. People, we live in Alexander County. If we can not stand united then guess what noone is going to bother to help us in any way, shape or form. If you don't like somebody then vote for the other guy but this constanst critical crap has got to stop.
