This is insane. It has been available to 1/2 of East Brunswick for nearly 2 years!!!! When the hell will the rest of East Brunswick have access to it? I am struggling here with lousy satellite service because I refuse to pay the outrageous Comcast prices. All of my friends who live in the "other" half of East Brunswick have Fios, and I love it, and its CHEAPER than what I pay...and yet, 2 years we wait and NOTHING.
Verizon will tell me nothing.
I have checked weekly for about 2 years. Nothing.
Anyone have any clue what the hell the deal is?

Hey Verizon, you have a huge protential market in East Brunswick, NJ. Most of us have enough with Comcast. I speak for all of us @ Indian Forest.

Ask Mayor Stahl and you will get a string of excuses. Maybe our council prefers Comcast.

When O when will we be spared from the clutch of Comcast?

Very frustrating that I can't get a straight
answer. EB Municipal spokesperson claims
that it is Verizon's decision to ignore EB
as there are no restrictions on Verizon to
enter this area. Verizon Wireless salesperson
claims that EB Township has placed barriers
to entry. Who to believe?

Judging from the large numbers of vacancies along Rt. 18 and the fact that we in EB do not have
access to many other services (NO quality mall;
NO Wegmans, Trader Joes, or Whole Foods; NO
Apple Store; NO Costco; etc., etc.) perhaps
it's true that we're now GU (Geographically

Have lived here for over 30 years and am
disappointed that the "growth" is now in
surrounding communities along the Rt. 1
and Rt. 9 corridors.

I was just saying WTF is up with EB and restaurants!!?!? Restaurants closing in EB? I feel like this is a government issue - why do we welcome smoke shop after smoke shop (5 by my calculations) yet we can't entice ANY quality new businesses into a very travelled highway with excellent access in both directions? There's a definitive disconnect here and it has to lay at the mayor's office. How can we not be a top city that businesses want to move into? Fios?!? It doesn't make sense that we must be held hostage by comcast? No choice in America? No Wegmans whole food trader joe fun time America - I mean there are many available locations empty stores and restaurants - it's embarrassing!!! i travel over 20-3o minutes OUT of town mayor to get what I want! So who benefits from my revenue? My town? Hell no! Does that make sense? Bring in fios! Bring in business!

it is unfortunate thst there is monopoly in TV and high speed internet svc. What the govt doing? Why is Fios suddenly stopped with no explanation. Have we forgooyten the basics of good business which requires competition. Does any one cares? Why the latest technology is denied ? are eb residents subjecting to political and economic bias?
want fios

East Brunswick is good for one thing only - its school system. I lived here for 25 years. It is safe and great for kids. Nothing else.

Its not just east brunswick. across 18 in South River we have the same problem.

Here's something to consider. Is your "good" development one with buried lines? i.e. no telephone polls? That's the way this development is and I strongly suspect that verizon is going for low hanging fruit with telephone poll access for easy stringing of fiber before they go for the buried lines.

Just a hunch.

We are getting scumbagged big time on Main Street in Sayreville as well! some parts of Sayreville have FIOS yet we are stuck with Optimum whose prices have been steadily increasing. Paying close to $200 for triple play now, really do not want to go the satellite route. This is ridiculous.

Fios is available to the street that is literally not even a minutes walk, yet it's been years since we've been waiting for Fios. This is getting ridiculous

im planning on leaving east brunswick all together after my lease is over. I ve only been here for 8 months and I couldn't stand it from the start. from a distance eb seems like a great place to live, but when you commit to living in it you realize how CORRUPT and over priced it really is. going to south Brunswick where there is a future.

The last I read, there won't be any additional roll-out of FIOS except in certain NJ urban areas that Verizon has prior agreement with the state of NJ. Google it for more info. You can thank Wall Street and the knee-jerk reaction in management to contain costs of the FIOS build out. Your are more likely to see 4G.

It's September 2013, and there is still no FIOS in EB!!!
