Here's an idea: stop allowing developers to destroy fertile farmland to build the "future slums of America" erroneously called developments. Rather give developers tax incentives for renovations that outweigh benefits for new building. That would let the farmers have their fields, us food, and open spaces for all to enjoy. I am all for cities being given incentives to have parks and trees for the children and city dwellers- good idea. But then additional watches of such areas need to be initiated so that they do not become hot spots for illicit activities. Also economy wise, why not give the taxpayer tax credits for giving back i.e. planting vegetation, trees, etc. But I am sure that the federal government, although it may sound like a great idea, will find a way to f*ck it up like all their other programs and make a buck for themselves in the process.
