You think your rates are high - try living in Bonneaville and paying a monthly - Yes MONTHLY rate of $71.00 for each month for water and sewer and now they are raising it to $75.00 per month! Absolutely outrageous.

Increase should not be a surprise.

Yeah Bonneauville is very expensive to say the least.$900.00 a year.......minimum. They charge for 5000 gallons per month. We use 2000-3000 here but are charged for 5000. Seems to me the money is used for other things besides water and sewer. Can't get any answers straight either. I would be happy to pay
$92.00 per quarter. Hey Mike, how about some answers as to these outrageous charges???

This scam is set up to make existing residents fund the expense of preparing for more residents via more housing. Total scam - let the deveopers pay!

What is "Richards" doing telling the reporter this information.
Is not Mr. Jerry Mumert the Chairman of the Authortiy?
Richards should be removed along with Clayton. Well maybe Clayton should stay on since he is going to welding school he can repair the old equipment. You know he had to miss authority meeting to go to class. But that was OK because Richards defended him aganist the letter Mr. Mummert presented to the Council to not allow him to be a canadate for relection. But Richards said he is a good old boy so he can miss meeting's that will affect to authority because he is getting a certificate on welding.
There are others E.B. Citizens that wanted to become involved in the authority but No Richards needs to make sure he has all his "YES" men an all the committies he is on so they will vote his way.
Sorry for those who have to put up with this group of narrow minded people.
Time to come out to all Borough, and Authority Meeting speek your feeling and comment to them that you are tired of the 4 & 1/2 people running the Borough. 4= Richards / Clayton / Woodward / Phillips. The 1/2 is Jan Hoffman.
Also send you comments to State Representative Will TAllman. He is well aware of the issues in town. Not only the $147,000.00 spent on the "Special Exception" by the Zoning board.
And the ATTITUDE OF THE BOROUGH COUNCIL. "A NO GROWTH TOWN". NO GROWTH = NO TAX DOLLARS TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY with out an increase in taxes.

Agreed. Did you read the letter in today's paper that Mr. Richard's wrote? He is still playing the blame game. Here's a suggestion for you Mr. Richards; if you don't like this town, move!! We were just fine and dandy without you and your cronies always putting our town in the paper and making us look bad. From prosecuting a business about a smoker being a sign, or a business hanging a patriotic sign, to trying to run business out of town. There hasn't been any positive news about East Berlin since you, Clayton, Woodward and Phillips took over. Just remember there is an election coming this year. So enjoy your little power trip while you can.

Do you think growth is the only reasonable answer? I hate to think this is correct, as growth is the scurge of rural living. The only people who really make out are the developers.

I think the growth the person was talking about was business growth. There has to be a balance between the growth of business and rural/historical protection of the town. And the answer is not to try and run businesses out of town. How many businesses have left, closed or layed off people in town this past year?

Thanks. No doubt that it is bad form to try to run viable businesses out of any town. I don't know how many have left East Berlin, but it looks like the good citizens are trying to get a grip on this problem. I wish them the best of luck!

Our luck would be great if Richards went back to Maryland, Clayton went back to New York, Woodward went back to being Jan's puppet, and Philips went back to playing in the mud puddles in the middle of the street.
