Sometimes you could be driving at 5 mph and still slide off of a road. Black ice, sharp turns, and freezing rain is no joke. I think by saying they could have "left earlier for their destination or driven at safe speeds" is an unfair claim. Unless the investigation(s) come back to determine excessive speed, maybe their tires just lost grip of the road. It happens.

These yuppie morons out there will never slow down. I see it every time it snows. Idiots fly by at the posted speed or above and a few miles later you'll see them spun out in the median or off the shoulder into the woods. Or worse, they crash in the lane of travel and delay you because of their stupidity. These types of jerk offs cause all of our insurance rates to increase.

Sometimes driving slow will do you no good if there is ice on the road. Those of us who have jobs are afraid not to take the risk as employers are looking for any fault such as not going to work in bad weather or just being late. Alot of blame also goes to the road crews who are not de-icing the roads and in some cases
not clearing fast enough. Maybe our road crews should be sent to Maryland in the off season to learn how its done. Bad road conditions should not be an excuse for cops to write tickets
just to make money for their townships.

Unbelievable! Why the hell do you think the tires lose traction? Driving too fast for conditions. If it was that bad how did ANY vehicles get away without crashing. Do everyone a favor and stay home, you're dangerous.
