Hello, Mr. Oberle,
I read your editorial calling for firearms dealers to quit offering the SKS rifles for sale to law-abiding citizens.
Your editorial deemed the SKS an "assault rifle".
I purchased an SKS rifle in the mid 1990s when the federal Assault Weapons Ban was law.
Here's an opportunity for you to demonstrate to the public that journalists have professional standards instead of political agendas to promote. You can pen and publish a correction that points out an SKS is not an "assault rifle" under the former federal statute, contrary to your original faulty assertion.
Are there standards and ethics at your newpaper, Mr. Oberle?
