If you're going to slam all Mia's employees then at least know facts before you open your mouth about what you "heard". You couldn't be more insulting with your "hiring of girls without dads or good relationships"... both of which I have. You must know us so personally that you feel comfortable saying such rude, reputation-ruining things about us, right? And as for your "outside car activities"... nothing has ever taken place like that and shame on you for implying so! That's disgusting and personally insulting. Why do you feel the need to slam women and young women who decide to get a job serving and bartending to pay their way through college and support their families? Get another hobby and a hint.
Also to "Concerned Citizen" from another current employee.... I have a daddy and a wonderful boyfriend! Get a life!

I've had great times at Mia's, never saw anything questionable, however, they did burn the pepperoni on a pizza I ordered last March.

I've been to mias on numerous occasions. I actually used to be a regular there. These two brothers especially mike are short tempered, roudy and immature. They actually used to pay the underage DRUNK bar maids to dance naked on the bars after hours. I've also witnessed the firing of numerous bar maids for being pride, chubby or not alcoholics. These two brothers should do anything but own a bar. They can not control there tempers. Finally someone got hurt bad enough for someone to pay attention. It's discussing. CLOSE THEM DOWN!

It's pretty amazing how the media and a "sour grapes" ex-employee can trash Mia's based on allegations! Where are we, in some third-world nation. Maybe we should get a mob together and go over there and stone them to death. It couldn't be any worse that what they're getting in the News or on this blog. Aren't we innocent until proven guilty in the US? The insinuation that the Sweeney's have drugged girls drinks is slanderous, and if I were them, I would find out who made these allegations and sue them. I have been a customer of Mia's since they opened. I have eaten there with my wife and children on a regular basis, and have never witnessed fights or behavior that has made us uncomfortable. I will continue to patronize them with or without a liquor license. Let things play out before you make any judgements.

Lol. Proven guilty? They have had over 30 incidents on where police have responded and the owner is on probation for abusing a bar maid. Lol that's guilty

Dear former patron,
I'm assuming you meant "prude" and not "pride". You should really make sure your not thinking like a homosexual before posting threads. So what you are saying is you prefer fat sober women that dont put out at your bars? It's amazing that whenever there is a fight the winner is arrested and everyone feels bad for the loser. Boo hoo! For all we know....... That kid got shitfaced on st pattys day and did a faceplant in the parking lot. Bars = booze, drunken women, and a occasional scrap. Your kidding yourself if you never partook in any of those activities! Dickhead

It's fairly common for mouth breathing retards to gather in internet message boards and string together incoherent nonsense without any clear factual evidence. Read the news article linked above and make your own decisions about the bros and Mias respectfully.

Ya. I met prude. Posting from a phone. I also have witnessed enough for this bar to be shut down indefinitely. And yes, noone likes fat prude girls at a bar but also underage drunk kids is a diff story.

You make it sound as if they have drunken 12 year olds dancing on the bar. Get real. I seen Chad fire great devoted employees on the spot for not asking for ID. Don't tell me you never chalked your ID when you were 18 to sneak in to the local bar. What was it like playing with Jordan Scottie?

I've been a patron at Mia's OP for a few years now, and along the way, have met and hung out with the Sweeneys and even become friends with some of the staff. I've never experienced any of the behavior described in any of the news stories or in these comments. I certainly wouldn't continue to patronize their establishment had there been any semblance of such behavior! Chad and Mike have always been gracious hosts, providing a fun and comfortable atmosphere, friendly conversation, and good food and drinks - important ingredients for an enjoyable bar experience. I've hung out with the brothers and staff members on numerous occasions; the female bartenders I've encountered are well adjusted individuals, and contrary to some earlier posts, there are several male staff members, all of whom I've found to be courteous and fun. As you may have noticed, I'm speaking from experience, not from what I've heard from others or read in comments ... I'd encourage others to enjoy the Mia's experience as well, especially before slandering the owners and indirectly insulting employees (and me, as a patron who has enjoyed many fun times there!).

These comments people are saying are utterly disgusting and honestly make me sick to my stomach. How dare someone allege these things such as young girls associating with "outside car activity". We're not in the middle of Buffalo. This is a great town with great people and those activities would never happen. And as ffar as the comment about girls being raped.. ridiculous!!! No one has ever been raped at Mia's at either location. I know these girls personally and trust me there was NO rape involved. And to call someone a scumbag and say that they hand out drugs is a lie as well. The young woman who decided to leave one night drunk and crashed her car about a mile down the road did that on her own. She bought pills from people not associated with Mia's and drank then drove and crashed. Don't blame others for your own stupid actions. Im outraged at the number of people who sit on here with nothing better to do than to trash my place of employment. This is the only place that actually gives a damn about us and our families and does anything they possibly can to make our work environment welcoming and comfortable. As for the Underage Drinking bs, Ive worked there for 8 months now and havent personally witnessed an underage employee drink. For the SLA to say that our bosses allow their employees to drink on the job and/or off the job underage is a lie. These men are sincerely concerned about the activity that goes on within their restaurant. If they see any sort of problem they take the initiative and end the problem.. For those of you who are hearing rumors.. theyre from past employees that have been fired or not welcomed back because of their irresponsible behavior. They lie.. Dont believe everything you hear and dont open your mouth unless you have actually been at Mias and know the truth behind it all!!!

And if Mia's is sooo bad.. how come these former employees asked to come back and were turned down because of the irresponsible behavior? I witnessed that first hand and people wonder why the current employees at Mia's say that these are lies. They are lies! These girls are mad because they couldnt come back or got fired for immature behavior and theyre mad so this is their way of getting back. We all have families to take care of and provide for. Its a bar.. bar fights happen. Not saying that their right, but unless you were there and you know the facts shut your mouth. Remember the guy that SUPPOSEDLY got beat up NEVER PRESSED CHARGES!!! OPPD did. OP has wanted them out of there ever since they took ownership.. Dont come to Mia's, but you're missing out on sincere genuine service, great food and excellent leadership!
