Police: Drinking party leads to damaged cruiser

State Police said someone threw a rock through the window of a cruiser while police were processing suspects at an underage drinking party near the Dorset Bat Caves.

In the story "Drinking party leads to damaged cruiser" There seems to be an overuse of the phrase, "police said". That phrase occurs nine time in the story. It doesnt matter to me, I don't live in Vermont, just like to read the paper. It would have been an easier read if the phrase was alternated with "according to police", "a ploice spokesman reported" Suc h things to break up the monotony.
