Im new to the Alton/STL area and am looking for a new go-to salon. After setting an appointment with Lewis at Vintage Hair Salon in Alton two days in advanced, I showed up to my appointment 10 min early. Never got greeted or asked my name when i walked in, although many stylists looked over at me. No big deal; they all looked busy. I took a seat and proceeded to wait for 20 minutes past my appointment time, still not a word from my (or any) stylist. The stylist who was scheduled for me (Lewis, the only male) was just chatting with others, glancing over at me once in a while but never a word. I understand if they cant help me right at my appointment time, but at least let me know that you havent completely disregarded my (uncomfortable) visit. I ended up leaving, walking kind of slowly out to see if anyone would step up and try to fix the situatuon. Nothing.
I dont recommend to new clients- seems they strongly prefer the regular locals who are already established customers.

Vintage Hair Salon is one of the best around. They always make you feel like family. The other stylists always say hi and bye every time, even though you are not their direct customer. Merideth Springman is doing an excellent job! Keep up the good work.
