So what are you saying? Some of you are under the assumption that postpartum only strikes after you have female infants? How absurd! I would like for someone to explain this phenomenon to me. How is it a mother can be struck with postpartum after a baby girl but the little male child that was born between could escape unscathed? Was it because he was named after her deceased brother so she couldn't bring herself to hut him? Or was it because he was afforded extra care from Robert because he was a boy? After all, it was reported that the bed room for Randy was decorated for a little boy, but Heather, she had nothing. It strikes me also that there were no previous "signs" of mental illness with Paula at anytime prior. Suddenly once she's incarcerated she realizes "Oh, thats what I should have used for my defense" Give me a break. Why would any rather go to prison as a cold blooded baby killer if you really were suffering from depression.
Now, let me say this. I am formerly from the area where this tragedy took place, I had been to a home of the Sims prior to them living in the house where the first infant was killed. I had met Paula on a couple of occasions because Robert worked at the Boxboard in Alton with a guy I was dating at the time. Did she seem depressed? No. Did she seem a little off? No. And I do feel for Randy. However, it must be said. Does anyone think for a moment that IF Robert had been treating Paula so bad for having little girls he would ever admit to it? That would be something that could never be proved. I lived there when they found Heather in a garbage can and I sat on the floor and cried. I couldn't believe this was happening again. I remember they took hair samples from the Sims family members and how they took samples from a freezer in Paula's parents home as they were out of town at the time of the death. She has no excuse and should stop using this as a defense when there are women out there who truly suffer postpartum depression. |
|
Exactly. Isn't that the most disgusting thing you have ever heard?? That would have been soooo the last thing on my mind! OMG! |
|
I don't think birth control is the topic. And maybe if Paula Murderer Sims had been practicing some birth control there would not be TWO dead baby girls buried right now thank you! |
|
I know what you're talking about. She was made to sleep in the other room with the girl babies. He didn't want them or her around. It's odd also how it was reported by investigators that Randy had a room all fixed up with little boy things and Heather had nothing. Doesn't old Robert know that it's the man's sperm that dictates if a fetus is male or female?? He spawned the girls that Paula eventually killed. He played his part. Randy, I'm sorry. You say in another blog that your dad cries for the girls. I am sure he sheds tears, maybe at the thought that he played a role in some fashion. |

I think all of you guys should shut your face and leave him alone. Of course his life has been bad and I'm glad he has a high opinion of his father. You are all being too judgemental and act like you are psychiatrists. The one thing I wish is that Randy could have a little more compassion for his mother, but if he can't then he has to deal with it, not anyone else.

Paula Sims should have received the death penalty. There is no way she deserves to be released from prison. I get so tired of murders blaming some kind of disease for their actions. Everyone knows what they are doing at that time, also Paula showed no remorse at all. She is a cold blooded killer who does not deserve to live at all. I have always believed in an eye for an eye. But unfornatunly the government doesn't. As for her surviving son, Randy, hold your head high, you did nothing wrong.

I agree. Because some of the stories that circled was that he didnt want girls. So that is why she only killed the girls. Please pray that she does not get out of prison. |

I think she deserves everything she got. It is horrible to kill your children like that. Cheap lady couldn't afford birth control so she had to go and end a precious life. I hope she is suffering where she is now!

I just watched the story of Paula on television. I question the PPD theory. Why did she only have PPD after the birth of daughters, but amazingly, she was fine with the birth of her son?(For those of you referencing Brooke Shields and her PPD, Brooke did not murder her daughters. She got help.) But why were there no pictures of her daughters around the house? She did not value her daughters. How can it be PPD when there was such planning to kill and dispose of Heather? Does someone suffering from a disease sit down and plan a way to dispose of the body that includes gloves, driving across town--not once, but twice, and then driving again to dispose of the body?!?!
I feel like the son is also a victim. Think what his life has been like! God bless him. He has to live with his mother's crimes everyday for the rest of his life. Why do some of you want to excuse this mother after she killed her beautiful children?! Two of them, people!! |
|
The young man is upset and angry. "Your (you're) to (too) close to be objective"????? Duhhhhh! Randy lived this. He's suffered his entire life due to his mother's crimes. How objective could he be? How objective could you be in a similar situation? Have some sympathy for a young man who will never know his sisters due to his mother. How do you suggest he "get beyond this"? Pretend it didn't havppen? The story of his mother's crimes is on television. There was a book published. And his sweet sisters are gone! It's not going to just POOF go away. I don't blame him for his distress. What he needs are prayers, not advice to get over it. Have a heart! |

Wow, you really are an asshole, aren't you?
You don't even know my father or me. What right do you have to judge people you haven't met? Did God give you a special power to know my heart? I have Jesus, thank you very much. I attend church weekly and serve as an usher. I am flawed like anyone else, but try hard to be a good person and do the right thing. Forgiving is a hard thing to do, I pray I am able to do it someday. There is nothing wrong with wanting someone to pay for their sins. Paula deserves to be where she is right now. I seem to be much more objective than you are and I'm actually involved. Funny. |
Someone who truly was encouraging another to let Jesus in their life would NOT say the cruel things you said. You called Randy "sick and demented." You told him he couldn't miss his sisters because he never knew them. Do you really mean all these things? WOW!!! Christians would want to alleviate Randy's pain. Christians would use kind words of encouragement. Christians would be sympathetic and empathetic. Christians would pray. I really think it's important not to be overtly judgmental, and instead, encourage and pray. |

I thank you both for your kind words. There are so many great people out there who have mentored me and friended me. My church has been very helpful for me. I am so very fortunate to know the people I do.
I think I am working through it better all the time. I know there's nothing I can do to change the past, but I'm trying to make the future the best it can be. I am not going to let judgemental people, the news media, Paula, or her family do any more damage than they already have. |

if you ever need another friend to support you i'm here! I have the email you posted earlier let me know if you ever want me to email you. I'm not just going to be a random person adding to your inbox lol. Take care and hope to hear positive things from you soon.

Hey Randy, it's Susan B. I was checking on the latest on the clemency case since I forgot to ask you about it last few times we spoken, and found this. Wow. Do people really have nothing better to do than sit around an past judgement on everyone else?? Hang in there, and I'll see you next time I'm in town. I'll keep praying for you concerning the never ceasing focus on this case,as well as the forgiveness issue. You know how I feel about that, but I understand how much it asks of you to forgive Paula. But let me remind all of you out there that one of the last acts Jesus did before dying was to ask God's forgiveness to His murderers. That's a tough act to follow, but it is our example...for all of us, not just Randy. I know you well Randy, and I know you will get to that point someday....don't sweat it now. Just keep praying....and I'll see you soon!

I feel sorry for Randy because he didn't ask for any of this to happen to his family. Good luck to you and god be with you. I think I would stop trying to defend your dad. You know what you know and that is all that truly matters. Yes your mom made it seem like your dad messed with her head. Whatever the case it was still no reason for her to take your sisters lives.

Randy, don't worry about all of the psychobabble the liberally ill and media slaves are posting here. I'm sure that you have heard it all before anyway. Just stick to your guns and take care of the people that matter to you. That list changes as years go by and you learn more cool stuff. I wish the best for you and your family.
