Ok Found it. How I remembered to take the fork when I was in my mid 30's and forgot about it in my 40's, I have no idea.

http://maps.google.com/maps...

This map is for Freehold, NY. It has four corners identified by the marker. Follow the road to the right till you come to Pine Springs. It is changed with that new dining hall after the fire from when I went, but much of it is still the same after all these years.

The Mike I could remember was tallish and on the thin side. I do remember a woman bandaging my knee one day. Also remember a guy by the name of "Lenny" I think whose favorite saying was "Keep Walking".

Also, there was a guy by the name of Robert Ricci who was a waiter and worked a night in the "night club".

What was the name of the farewell song? I think it was a Connie Francis song.

Was just up there for golf weekend at the old Pleasant View Lodge.I found the old Pine Springs Resort just down the road. It brought back very special memories. I reconized the hand ball court that still has Pine Springs on the wall. It now is owned by a Baptist church.

Hey dave. I worked at Pine Springs from June to Sept 1970. I was a day waiter there and occasionally worked in the "night club" and now that I saw your post I do have a vague recollection of someone with a "funny" accent working security. Mike Sr. was a good old guy and the chef's name was Steve. I remained close friends with some of the old waiters, Bob, Whitey, and Jimmy and we still get together! We were young, worked 7 days/week with 1 day off all summer, made a boatload of money but had a blast.

Can't seem to find the link. My dad's cousin Mike and his wife Adeline were the owners. I worked there myself a couple of times as a teenager.
I also worked there in 1962 and 1963-great place-I include the place in my novel Visiting Brooklyn-

Are you the Nick from the band? Peter Brown was one member. I worked there as a waiter in 1965 and 1966. Great times!

Surprised no one has yet mentioned the morning "wake up" song played over the loudspeaker about 8AM every morning,(at least for the four or five years I went there in the late fifties, early sixties). Anyone remember? It was "Sometimes When I'm All Alone", by Danny and the Juniors; it was the flip side of "At the Hop".
