State Police Investigation Clears Cecil County SPCA

CHESAPEAKE CITY, MD-A state's attorney and a Maryland State Police investigation into allegations against the Cecil County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Inc. (CCSPCA), which were published on the Internet by Del. Michael Smigiel (R-36), have concluded there was no evidence of criminal wrongdoing and that fired employees lied about their accusations.

There's a lot of important information here. The local newspaper didn't print it and why don't the TV stations, that were so quick to believe Smigiel and the lying people he put on his blog, now go on the air with THIS information? Is Smigiel threateninbg them? The cops and the State's attorney say these people lied and made up bad stuff about the SPCA. SHAME!

Have you ever looked at other shelters in the state of Maryland? They have a fantastic volunteer staff, they work hard with the public to adopt, they have continuing education (hmmm, think this county can handle that?) and have TRUE LEADERSHIP of people that care. Not sit back and hide. That SPCA president is a joke too! I would love to talk to her, but she goes around like a little bully and threatens people, what a shame!

So, "snoopy," otherwise well known as Melanie, you show your lack of knowledge. Mr. Hawkins has extensive college level education credits and training, as well as national certifications and federal government emergency certification, in animal control services.
It is funny that someone who has so little education and training looks down her elongated nose at everyone else in Cecil County. so why not go back to Baltimore County? Oh, yes, you have all those court cases and bad checks there...

People like you are such a prime example as to why we have issues here! If you really think the SPCA is doing agreat job and the staff is great, then that is your opinion, right?

Thanks to all that keep fighting for change. My wife and I moved here last year and we adopted a dog from there that was not spayed. We complained, yet they would not give back our money.

We support a very cool rescue in North East, they deserve our money and needed items.

As a new county resident and animal lover, I was interested in the whole CCSPCA issue and attended the meeting with the board. I think it is a shame that what was supposed to be an animal issue has turned into personal attacks on this blog. Aren't we all interested in the safety of our animals. WOW-- the depths of disgusting attacks on this thread are incredible. As one who knows what Ms. "Cailey" was involved in, it is truly disgusting that she and her pals are so viciously attacking someone else whose heart has always been in the right place.

If you look at the pattern, it is the same person. They like to create drama, look up peoples past (even though as far as 20 years ago), sit around all day on the computer, drink wine every night, and has no compassion what so ever.

I really feel sorry for them, because I did see a good spirit a time ago.

They attack me all of time, and whatever. They forget about the horror in my life with Mom, but they are very evil, and what comes around, goes around, right? Right!
