It seems that management gave up on the Eagleville store a long time ago. Ever since Walmart picked up speed, Kmart didn't care anymore. What a shame,I preferred Kmart over Walmart but you could never get checked out in a timely manner and the front door was guarded where you had to dig out your receipt after leaving check out 6 feet away to show some yahoo sitting there that you paid. The prices on the item/shelf never matched the register.Bottom line they just didn't care.

With the East Norriton Kmart closing, one has to wonder if Walmart will try to buy that property along with the Big Lots (old Acme) and the small stores in between. I can see Walmart buying all of that and tearing it down so that they can build a Supercenter there and then close the existing store next to Pep Boys.

There's already a Supercenter in Audubon, 3 miles away. I don't think Walmart would open a Supercenter so close to another one. That would be too wierd, even for Walmart.

You may be right in that they may not want two supercenters that close together, but the Walmart discount store (non-supercenter) that's next to Pep Boys is too small and its a real dump. I could still see at least a new, Walmart discount store at the East Norriton Kmart site.

According to Google maps, the Walmart Supercenter on Trooper Rd in Audubon is 6 miles away from the Kmart at Germantown Pk & Dekalb Pk. The new Supercenter at Warner Rd & Gulph Rd in King of Prussia is only 4 miles away from the Audobon location (using 422 expressway). So I think Dave might be on to something. In this sour economy Walmart is one of the few operations out there that can easily take on a big project like this because they have the capital to do it.

the sales aren't great. i bought a light saber there that was 20% off and it was still more expensive than the one at target. no deals to be had.

Very doubtful. The new Supercenter in West Norriton (Audubon) was just downsized, believe it or not, for a Supercenter. Keep it in mind both these are newer Wal-Marts, built in 2002. They relocate stores too much.
