Where two hours can take you

A walk down Miner Street in downtown Idaho Springs feels like stepping back in time with its old-fashioned storefronts, street lights and buildings that date back to the early 1900s and earlier.

I love it
The locals are the same way. Its a way of life..easy going and friendly. It has the charm of the real colorado in the 1800s....not much has changed.....except the gold mining. The bars.....were a little more 1800ish. The Indian Springs lodge was totally different. Its charm and its history of the best!

I take the grandchildren to the Georgetown train and they love it. They think its great to see the train come into the station..........steam rolling..they ask questions about the train and history. I showed them the train that is on display in Idaho Springs and they climbed all over it and peeked in the windows. They have since then watched movies with those trains and say..........oh we have seen that! Take your kids or grandkids........its a great history lesson!

We visited Idaho Springs last summer and are planning another trip there next month to bring more of our family to experience what we did. The town is so frienly and unique. So many places in the surrounding area to visit. Especially enjoyed the Red Rocks with the great Amphitheatre.
